About the role:

As the Project Director AP1000 Delivery you will be responsible for the leadership, direction and execution of a US/North America based AP1000 project. You will report to the SVP, APX Project North America.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of delivery personnel that peaks at over 500 full time employees in execution of AP1000 development and execution activities for a North America based project including licensing, engineering, and supply chain.
  • Manage interface with the client in executing the project, reporting progress, and integration of Westinghouse activities with constructor, project manager and other client provided parties for project implementation.
  • Work with the Commercial Group to develop contracts that can be executed both to deliver the desired project and be implemented effectively commercially.
  • Execute the negotiated contracts and manage scope, schedule and changes.
  • Manage overall work performance for the project, including scope, cost and schedule compliance.
  • Lead development of the project supply chain, including meeting localization requirements within contractually required processes, as well as ensuring suppliers ability to deliver against quality and contractual requirements.
  • Work with functional leadership to ensure that needed expertise and numbers of resources are available to support the project in execution of scope within the agreed schedule.
  • Develop and implement necessary project management project specific processes to support project execution efficiency and compliance.



Qualifications:

  • BS degree in engineering, construction management or project management Master's degree in project management or business administration desirable
  • 20 years of experience in project management of large engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects including construction/construction management experience
  • Nuclear Reactor operational experience is beneficial
  • Development related to nuclear power plant project experience
  • Ability to relocate to project location at the desired timeframe and support extensive travel
  • Consortium leadership experience between an EP and Constructor preferred in settings such as joint venture (preferred) and/or non-incorporated execution (no fault)
  • PMP and/or PgMP, Professional Engineer is beneficial
  • High level proficiency in mega-project management tools, processes and systems
  • Experience in project management of multi-billion dollar, complex mega-projects of an EPC nature
  • Experience tendering for and negotiating multi-billion dollar contracts of an EPC nature
  • Broad experience in delivery model implementation across direct project hire, hard matrix, and soft matrix organizational delivery models
  • Extensive nuclear project safety culture, human performance improvement, and quality management system implementation experience
  • Experience executing projects across a broad range of contract types, including fixed price and cost reimbursable/time and materials
  • Ability to establish effective networks across functional areas including, finance, strategy, engineering, licensing, procurement, project management, and governmental agencies.
  • Ability to influence different thinking across the organization and challenge the status quo in a constructive and collaborative way
  • Experience in new nuclear projects and/or first in a while new build nuclear environments, including shaping legal structure for project delivery
