ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Facilitate implementation of EHS systems including Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, and medical programs, with primary emphasis on proactive safety leadership and risk elimination.


Specific Responsibilities




  • Lead and/or facilitate location strategic and tactical EHS teams with strong focus on safetydriven decision making.
  • Educate line organization personnel to ensure full compliance with all Safety and EHS regulatory requirements, corporate policies, and industry standards.
  • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments associated with manufacturing processes; identify critical hazards and drive corrective actions that reduce or eliminate risks.
  • Provide specialized Safety expertise and assist in building plantwide knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety best practices, and corporate EHS standards.
  • Assist in defining, obtaining, and coordinating required EHS reports, permits, communications, and selfassessments for the location.
  • Develop and update EHS written programs, safety procedures, and safe work instructions.
  • Be available to assist in emergencies, incident response, and special safetyrelated projects on nights and weekends as needed.
  • Monitor and manage the Environmental Health and Safety Training Matrix, ensuring employees receive timely training for job hazards and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating fire drills, evacuation drills, and emergency preparedness exercises.
  • Partner with line organization personnel daily to address immediate health and safety concerns and promote a culture of hazard reporting.
  • Update health and safety postings and bulletin boards to keep information accessible and visible.
  • Develop and facilitate EHS training with a strong emphasis on safe behaviors, hazard recognition, and injury prevention.
  • Develop and update all EHS policies and procedures, ensuring strong alignment with safety best practices.
  • Ensure incident investigations are completed promptly and thoroughly using root cause analysis methodologies.
  • Manage and analyze all incident and nearmiss data to identify trends and drive targeted safety improvements.
  • Facilitate various crossfunctional EHS teams, including safety committees and improvement groups.
  • Prepare safety-focused EHS toolbox topics and deliver them plantwide.
  • Complete Health and Safety audits and inspections, identifying compliance gaps and leading corrective action efforts.
  • Manage the Job Observation/BehaviorBased Safety Program, coaching employees and reinforcing safe behaviors.
  • Complete hazard assessments, including Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), PPE evaluations, and ergonomic risk evaluations.
  • Facilitate Safety and Health programs such as Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, confined space, respiratory protection, fall protection, and more.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and recommend control measures to reduce musculoskeletal risks.



QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a twoyear college in Environmental, Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent verifiable experience. Bachelor of Science preferred.


Experience in industrial or manufacturing Safety program coordination strongly preferred.



LANGUAGE SKILLS


Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidate is strongly preferred.



MATHEMATICAL SKILLS


Aboveaverage math skills with ability to measure, weigh, and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, and volume. Understanding of basic geometry and statistics.



REASONING ABILITY


Ability to define problems, identify root causes, evaluate risk, and draw valid conclusions.



OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.


Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and promote safe behaviors at all levels of the organization.
