Base Pay Starts at $16.25 per hour

Work Schedule: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm - Monday - Friday

Duties and Responsibilities

The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up and operating heavy machinery and related gauges to perform various cutting, punching, forming, blocking, and processing operations. They must have a thorough knowledge of production techniques and the ability to produce quality-building components and parts.

Machine Operators perform material and product loading and unloading activities to support the branch/warehouse location. In their day-to-day duties, they operate a forklift, overhead crane and construction tools.

• Complete work assignments and customer orders safely, accurately, timely and without damage. Assist co-workers and customers
• Inspect materials, products, machinery, tools and equipment
• Assist with inventory management activities including daily updates to the ERP system
• Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
• Assist in the movement of inventory within and among workstations and areas
• Comply with all safety requirements and use applicable personal protective equipment
• Ability to set-up and operate machinery and equipment to cut, punch, form, or paint quality finished or semi-finished parts
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, adjustments, and lubrication on equipment and production tools as required to maintain proper operation
• Interprets blueprints, specifications, and other technical data to select the correct raw material or semi-finished parts
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

• Attention to Detail - Ensuring orders are processed accurately and inventory is managed correctly
• Organizational Skills - Efficiently organizing stock and maintaining a clean workspace
• Teamwork - Collaborating with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations
• Technical Skills - Familiarity with warehouse management systems and basic computer skills
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
• High school diploma or GED required
• A combination of education and experience may be qualifying
• Must be able to become certified to operate a forklift vehicle and overhead crane
• Experience - Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment preferred
• Ability to lift up to 50pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Mobility - Prolonged periods of time on feet, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, carrying, grasping, reaching, stooping, crouching, etc
• Exposure - Moving mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and non-climate-controlled environment.\
• Noise Tolerance - High noise levels
