WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences-from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you'll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world's most important challenges-striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond. Together, we advance your career.

The Role:

  • As a senior leader within AMD's Quality & Reliability (Q&R) organization, you will define and advance the models, methods, and tools that underpin reliability analysis across AMD's full product portfolio. Your work will directly influence engineering decisions from silicon design through customer deployment, with particular focus on post silicon reliability performance.
  • This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic leadership, collaboration across design, test, product engineering, and foundry partners, and the ability to guide rapid problem solving during high visibility quality or reliability events.
  • You will lead a high impact team responsible for setting modeling strategy, enabling data driven reliability decisions, and safeguarding the quality of AMD's industry leading CPUs, GPUs, and adaptive SoCs.

The Person:

  • The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in semiconductor device physics, reliability mechanisms, and quality systems, paired with the leadership presence to influence cross functional teams and communicate complex topics with clarity. They are comfortable balancing long term modeling strategy with hands on technical consultation during urgent issues.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of reliability modeling experts; foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and technical excellence.
  • Ensure modeling insights are effectively integrated into power-performance-quality-reliability tradeoff decisions across the company.

Modeling & Tools

  • Anticipate emerging reliability challenges and deliver the methodologies and models needed to address them.
  • Advance AMD's reliability modeling frameworks for silicon aging, parametric drift, early life failures, and wear out mechanisms.

Quality Improvement

  • Partner with test engineering teams to optimize test content, setpoints, and analytics to reduce DPPM and prevent escapes.

Reliability Improvement

  • Collaborate with design teams on design rules, architectural features, and product constraints that enhance long term reliability.
  • Continuously improve AMD's qualification methods, statistical frameworks, and reliability metrics.

Technical Consulting

  • Provide expert guidance on DOE design, advanced statistical analysis, sample size methodologies, and Monte Carlo modeling.
  • Support triage and root cause analysis for customer, foundry, and field reliability issues.

Cross Functional Influence

  • Champion reliability as a core design and product priority, balancing power, performance, cost, and quality objectives across partner organizations.

Preferred Experience:

  • MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Significant experience in semiconductor reliability, product engineering, or device physics.
  • Deep understanding of silicon aging models, reliability mechanisms, and qualification processes.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis tools (Python, SQL, JMP).
  • Experience collaborating with design teams, foundry partners, and customer engineering organizations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across levels and functions.
