What success looks like in this role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team, specializing in government contract compliance and risk awareness. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of U.S. state and local government policies, compliance requirements, and reporting protocols (including administration of government consultants). They will also possess the ability to effectively communicate complex information to diverse audiences, foster collaborative relationships, and drive successful outcomes. This role is pivotal in ensuring our organization's adherence to regulatory standards and maintaining transparent communication with government entities.

The Manager of Government Regulatory Compliance is responsible for building and operating a government contracting and state lobbying compliance program. The purpose of the program is to build government contracting risk awareness, ensure compliance with applicable regulations, contract requirements, and administration of government consultants. The Manager will report to the Sr. Director, ERM & Government Regulatory Compliance and will work closely with operational teams providing services to government agencies. This role requires an individual with deep knowledge of government policies, compliance requirements and reporting. It also requires the skills to build and operate a program, including developing and implementing a governance framework, processes, standardization of reporting and monitoring protocols.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • In partnership with the Sr. Director, ERM & Government Regulatory Compliance , and vertical and business unit teams build a program, including governance framework, policies, processes, standard reporting requirements and monitoring protocols, around U.S. state and local government contracting and state lobbying compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and update organizational policies that align with government regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor processes to ensure standardization, quality, and timely compliance with reporting requirements (e.g., regulatory, contractual, government consultant / lobbyist, etc.).
  • Embed risk awareness into the government contracting compliance program.
  • Develop and oversee processes related to the administration of government consultants and state lobbying requirements.
  • Develop, monitor, analyze and report on key performance metrics.
  • Remain up to date on new and emerging state and local government regulations, assess their relative impact on the organization, and implement plans to comply.
  • Analyze regulatory data and trends to identify potential impacts on the organization and develop strategic responses.
  • Maintain effective communication with key stakeholders, sharing your knowledge of state and local government requirements and ensuring a positive working relationship and facilitating smooth interactions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for staff to enhance their understanding of government contracting and state lobbying compliance requirements and reporting procedures.
  • Act as the key liaison across the organization for government contracting compliance.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a government regulatory compliance role, preferably within state and local government settings.
  • Deep understanding of government contracting and state lobbying compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated strength in solving complex problems, developing strategies aligned to business requirements and ability to analyze and leverage data to develop innovative solutions.
  • Proactive and strategic thinker, capable of navigating complex regulatory landscapes and driving organizational compliance initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels within an organization and the ability to build broad internal and external networks.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Preferred membership in the National Association of Government Contractors (NAGC) or Government Contractor Association (GCA).
