Position Description

The Bilingual Procurement Specialist II is responsible for managing the process of procuring goods and services from external suppliers. Must work closely with North America Coatings plants and other departments within the organization such as finance, legal and operations to ensure that all procurement decisions align with company's goals. Cost reduction activities are a significant element of this role.

Key Responsibilities

Cost Savings Execution

  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities across direct and indirect spend categories specific to e-coating materials and services
  • Track and report savings initiatives using standardized tools and dashboards
  • Complete special projects and assignments as required

Supplier Engagement

  • Support supplier onboarding, qualification, and performance monitoring
  • Assist in managing supplier scorecards and coordinating corrective actions

Sourcing Support

  • Conduct RFQs and assist in negotiations for low-to-medium complexity purchases
  • Collaborate with category managers to align sourcing strategies with e-coating production needs.

Data Management & Reporting

  • Maintain procurement data accuracy in ERP systems
  • Monitor market trends to spot upstream supply risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Proactively address supplier and internal operational issues to ensure uninterrupted supply
  • Generate monthly reports on savings, supplier performance, and spend analysis

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner and engage frequently with operations, quality, engineering and accounts payable teams to ensure procurement aligns with production schedules and quality standards
  • Engage in Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) exercises to support cost-effective material selection
  • Deliver clear, impactful communication across teams and leadership through writing, speaking, and presenting
Required Education & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Logistics, Operations, Business, Accounting, or a related technical experience
  • 5+ years of experience in Materials Control or Buying, with hands-on use of MRP/ERP systems; SAP preferred
  • Bilingual and able to read, write and speak proficiently in Spanish & English required
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Ability to negotiate contracts and manage supplier relationships
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills
  • Experience applying VAVE principles to identify cost drivers, improve quality and reduce costs
  • Skilled managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis)
