Job Summary Medical Laboratory Scientist IIEvening 32 hours We're offering a generous sign-on bonus of $10,000 to eligible candidates who join our team. The Medical Laboratory Scientist II, in their role as Testing Personnel as defined by CLIA, may perform waived and non-waived testing. Under general supervision, they carry out all policies and perform all tests in accordance with the department's standard operating procedures. They work independently in an efficient and organized manner to ensure accurate results and records. This role requires a professional level of knowledge to accurately read and interpret test results used by providers in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. The Medical Laboratory Scientist II, in their role as General Supervisor as defined by CLIA, may be delegated responsibility for day-to-day supervision or oversight of laboratory operations and personnel performing testing and reporting results. Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager and Clinical Supervisors, the Medical Laboratory Scientist II is responsible for supervision of assigned workstations, including quality control (QC) review, training, competency assessment of staff, and inventory management. Testing personnel are responsible for specimen processing, test performance, and reporting test results. Each individual performs only those tests authorized by the laboratory director and requiring a degree of skill commensurate with the individual's education, training, experience, and technical abilities. No Essential Functions As outlined by CLIA, after successful completion of orientation, training, and competency assessment on all instruments and methods applicable to the role Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintenance of patient test records Maintain records demonstrating that proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples Adhere to laboratory quality control policies and document all quality control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed Follow established corrective action policies and procedures when test systems are not within acceptable performance levels Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of results, and correct them or immediately notify appropriate supervisory personnel Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications Qualifications Education Additional Job Details (if applicable) Physical Requirements
