Job Description




As a Security Officer - Education Patrol Unarmed Full-Time in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment for students, staff, and visitors. Your presence and exceptional customer service will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while you assist with access control and respond to various situations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergency situations when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the educational environment in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the campus buildings and surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and promote a secure atmosphere.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns to the appropriate personnel and/or authorities.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entrances and exits, verifying identification as needed, and helping to maintain orderly flow of individuals in and out of the location.
  • Support emergency response efforts by providing directions and assistance to individuals during drills and real incidents.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Access control or badge experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
