The Software and AI Category Management Team at San Diego Gas & Electric Company ("SDG&E"), part of the Technology Portfolio in Supply Management, provides critical oversight and management over all software and AI vendors and agreements across SDG&E and its affiliates, including Sempra (parent company) and Southern California Gas Company ("SoCalGas"). The team is responsible for managing all software and AI-related purchases, negotiating commercial deals, reviewing and redlining agreements, and refining scopes and statements of work for related professional services, to maximize value for the organization.
Primary Purpose: Groups and classifies procurement spend into categories to optimize purchasing strategies, increase efficiency, and reduce risks. Analyzes market trends and builds strategic supplier relationships to extract long-term value. Streamlines procurement by eliminating redundancies, consolidating efforts, and standardizing policies across the organization. Utilizes data insights to drive cost savings, improve supply chain sustainability, and enhance compliance, ensuring better service quality and brand reputation. Developing higher-level knowledge and skills. Solves a range of straightforward problems using existing solutions. Receives general supervision and direction.
