Job Overview The Senior Manager, Windows serves as a key creative leader within Macy's Visual Merchandising organization and is based at Macy's Herald Square. They oversee Macy's award-winning window programs, ensuring exceptional storytelling, craftsmanship, and brand representation. This role manages seasonal and campaign window installations for Herald Square and five to six additional flagship stores, partnering with Creative, Production, Marketing, and Store Visual teams to deliver best-in-class flagship windows that inspire customers and support the brand strategy. Skills You Will Need Creative Direction & Storytelling - Ability to translate brand strategy and creative concepts into compelling, high-impact window presentations that showcase exceptional storytelling, craftsmanship, and visual consistency across flagship locations. Visual Merchandising & Craftsmanship Expertise - Deep knowledge of large-scale window execution, materials, prop styling, lighting, and finishing details, with a strong eye for quality, precision, and brand representation. Design & Visualization Proficiency - Skilled in reviewing, interpreting, and creating digital renderings, sketches, and layout plans; proficient in tools such as SketchUp, Vectorworks, Adobe Creative Suite, and other 2D/3D visualization software. Project Management & Execution - Proven ability to manage complex, seasonal programs end to end, including timelines, logistics, production sequencing, vendor coordination, and on-site installation. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Strong partnership skills to align Creative, Production, Visual, Marketing, Store Leadership, and external vendors around shared goals and execution standards. Technical & Production Acumen - Strong capability to read and interpret technical drawings, build specifications, and production documentation to ensure feasibility, safety, and execution accuracy. Communication & Presentation Skills - Clear, confident communicator with the ability to provide feedback, conduct walkthroughs, and present recaps, reports, and visual documentation to leadership. Technology Awareness & Adaptability - Awareness of emerging tools and technologies, including AI-assisted design, smart lighting, motion elements, interactive displays, and digital prototyping; ability to adapt quickly to evolving creative and production platforms. Operational Rigor & Safety Compliance - Strong understanding of operational standards, safety guidelines, and compliance requirements for large-scale, in-store installations.
