MGR - MILIEU

Primary Responsibilities

1. Consistently utilizes universal precautions and environmental safety guidelines to maintain an environment conducive to safety and that promotes health and reinforces the safety and dignity of the patient as well as the safety of all staff and visitors.
2. Promotes a therapeutic environment for patients by following the program schedule, rules, and guidelines with minimal supervision
3. facilitates and leads community groups assigned and role models for all MHTs
4. Completes patient procedures and documentation accurately and within the time frame specified, and role models for all MHTs
5. Follows the process for contraband procedures and role models for all MHTs
6. Monitors patients with special precautions according to facility policy and role models for all MHTs
7. actively utilizes and role models verbal de-escalation techniques to support the facility's goal of elimination of restraint/seclusion and only employs non-violent physical intervention techniques on patients exhibiting violent/inappropriate behaviors as a last resort.
8. Actively participates in all Code Debriefs, serving as a subject matter expert and follows up with MHTs requiring additional support/training.
9. Actively assists patients in achieving treatment goals and objectives
10. Immediately alerts supervisors to risk management and quality concerns.
11. Functions effectively as a member of an interdisciplinary team using tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating to patients, families, visitors, and coworkers at all times.
12. Assists RN in completion of admissions process, especially safety/contraband search and accurate completion of patient belongings inventory and subsequent safe storage of belongings and role models for all MHT's
13. Performs special functions as required (ex, ADL care of patients)
14. Takes an active, lead role in assessment, planning, and implementation of the unity
15. Role Models excellent communication with the unit RN before and at the end of the shift for report and direction.
16. Serves as the primary training, preceptor, and mentor to new MHTs
17. Floats to all units as needed
18. Monitors and maintains adequate patient supplies and patient nutritional supplies on all units
19. Inventories and monitors unit equipment for all cleanliness and safe working conditions.

1. The Milieu Manager will work with the DCS to develop MHT Group programming and implementation for all populations
2. Milieu Manager will be responsible for training and accountability of the MHT group compliance (Fidelity Program)
3. Manage and maintain MHT/LMHT attendance and tardy coaching, and write-ups.
4. Responsible for ensuring the hospital is staffed appropriately with LMHT and MHT, working closely with ACNO and the staffing coordinator.
