Job Summary The Security Service Technician is responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion systems, and related low-voltage infrastructure. This role requires expertise in diagnosing system issues, performing repairs, configuring IP-based devices, and ensuring all equipment operates efficiently and safely. The technician will work both independently and as part of a team, providing professional communication and quality service while supporting a wide range of security technologies, including platforms such as Genetec, Lenel, Software House, ProWatch, Revo, Axis, and Hanwha. Job Responsibilities

Travel to client sites to perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on security systems, including cameras, card readers, and maglocks.

Diagnose and resolve issues with access control systems, including panels, readers, strikes, and maglocks.

Service and troubleshoot IP and analog cameras, as well as Network Video Recorders (NVRs).

Support CCTV software installations on computers and mobile devices, including adding or removing cameras, setting recording schedules, and retrieving footage.

Maintain access control system interfaces by managing credentials, configuring access levels, and setting door schedules.

Apply basic IP networking skills to configure devices such as switches, routers, and port forwarding.

Install and terminate low-voltage cabling, including 22/4, 20/4, CAT5e, and CAT6.

Organize and dress cables from IT closets to device locations, ensuring proper cable management.

Build and maintain equipment racks for security systems.

Install and manage cable pathways, including J-hooks and D-rings, and ensure all cables are properly labeled.

Utilize software programs for documentation and system management, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, CCTV software, and access control applications.

Interpret and follow blueprints, drawings, and layouts for service tasks.

Communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and management while maintaining strong customer service standards.

Follow safety protocols and wear required PPE while maintaining a clean and hazard-free work environment.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

5+ years of experience working with CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems.

3+ years of commercial security system installation and service experience.

3+ years of access control system installation and maintenance experience.

1+ years of experience with IP addressing and basic network troubleshooting.

Experience with platforms such as Genetec, Lenel, Software House, ProWatch, Revo, Axis, and Hanwha.

Security manufacturer or product certifications preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Scissor and boom lift certification preferred.

Physical ability to work on ladders or lifts, perform tasks in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds and move up to 75 pounds, and remain on feet for extended periods.

Possession of basic hand tools, steel or composite toe boots, gloves, and a tool pouch.
