THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will use appropriate occupational therapy techniques and media to achieve treatment goals for patients throughout our hospital campus. You will provide group and individual treatments to adults with mental and physical illnesses or injuries, monitor the progress of treatment sessions, and make adjustments to therapeutic programs as needed. You will also complete clinical documentation, assist with patient scheduling, and ensure therapeutic equipment is in optimal working condition. This role requires the ability to ensure occupational therapy treatment sessions coordinate with the goal of other disciplines, as well as a genuine desire to help patients achieve their highest level of functioning. In addition you will perform screenings, assist with evaluations, and administer structured tests.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. You will work every 5th Saturday with the following Monday off.
  • Free parking
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

  • You must be in possession of a license to assist in the practice of occupational therapy, under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Occupational Therapy Education and Licensure, or possession of a temporary license.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Persons possessing a temporary license will be accepted pending full licensure which must occur within one year after employment.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination..
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
