DELIVERY SYSTEMS SPECIALIST - DRIVER - 3rd Shift

At SpaceX, we're applying our rocket and spacecraft expertise to deploy Starlink, the world's largest satellite constellation and most advanced broadband internet system. Serving over 8 million users globally with fast, reliable connectivity, we design, build, test, and operate the full system-from thousands of satellites and easy-to-set-up consumer antennae to the integrating software. Starlink's global potential is just beginning to unfold, and it starts with the Materials Management team in Woodinville.

The Delivery Systems Specialist role supports our Starlink production factory by handling bulk pickups, loading, and deliveries of satellites and ground station antennae between our Woodinville and Redmond facilities, as well as key vendors and suppliers. As Starlink scales, this position ensures consistent, safe, and reliable delivery of materials and components, playing a vital role in advancing global connectivity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Transport manufacturing, test, and support items by loading, driving, and unloading them within a 200-mile radius of the SpaceX campus.
  • Operate less-than-truckload (LTL) vehicles (under 26,000 lbs GVW), including vans and flatbeds, in full compliance with all federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations.
  • Safely load vehicles at pickup locations and transport loads to destinations while strictly adhering to all rules of the road.
  • Safely unload vehicles at designated drop-off points.
  • Use forklifts as the primary method for loading and unloading vehicles.
  • Secure vehicle loads to ensure safe and damage-free delivery to destinations.
  • Scan barcodes in accordance with business Warehouse Management System (WMS) requirements.
  • Support receiving, material handling, and inventory operations in the Distribution Center and across SpaceX as needed.
  • Follow driving routes and origin-destination directions provided by the internal fleet supervisor, and promptly communicate any issues to the immediate supervisor or relevant parties.
  • Maintain and review all applicable documentation (paperwork) for delivered items to prevent damage during transport.
  • Monitor vehicle service records while driving and immediately report any problems to the manager.
  • Keep vehicles clean and refuel them when fuel levels are low.
  • Maintain a clean and safe driving record.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • 2+ years of experience in expediting or material handling
  • 3+ years of experience in commercial or professional driving
  • 1+ year of experience operating a forklift and/or material-handling motorized vehicles and equipment


PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Experience in material handling and stake bed driving (under 26,000 lbs GVW)
  • Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) for Class A CDL holders
  • Proficiency with barcode scanning for tracking material movement
  • Background working with aircraft or automotive parts and assemblies
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
  • Trucking experience, ideally in customer-service-focused deliveries
  • Proven driving in high-volume manufacturing settings
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Counterbalance sit-down forklift operation experience


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be available for at least one of the following shift:


    • Woodinville


      • 3rd shift B: 8:00 pm - 6:30 am




  • Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends when needed to meet critical deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to obtain a Hazardous Material Endorsement (HME) for Class A CDL license holders
  • Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
  • Must be willing to work in an open-aired environment, lacking temperature controls
  • Valid Class C license


COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS (+15% shift differential on top):

Level 1: $29.00 - $34.00/hour
Level 2: $32.00 - $40.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. Non-exempt Washington employees are eligible for sick leave in accordance with Washington's Sick Leave policies.
