Overview
The Center for Space Engineering (CSE) is seeking an in-house Software Engineer to support space systems development, laboratory testing, and mission-critical software. This role is well suited for a recent graduate who is comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure engineering environment and is excited to contribute to space mission success.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain software supporting laboratory and mission systems
  • Work with time-series databases to collect, process, and analyze test and system data
  • Communicate with laboratory equipment over TCP/IP using the SCPI protocol
  • Contribute to and maintain in-house software and tooling used for spacecraft testing and operations
  • Support test campaigns, troubleshooting, and system validation
  • Respond to time-critical issues during testing and mission operations as needed


Qualifications
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering with strong software development background.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in software development through coursework, internships, research, or professional work
  • Experience/familiarity with the following programming languages:
    • Python
    • C++
    • Java
    • CSS (for internal tools or user interfaces)
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Ability to work reliably under high pressure and tight deadlines
  • Willingness to be on call during critical testing periods or mission operations
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with time-series data and relational databases
