Job Summary:

The MiM Assistant Director, Industry Relations, supports the Master in Management (MiM) program in developing relationships with alumni and other industry professionals, collaborating with Career Coaches on summer and academic schoolyear career development workshops and content, supporting MiM clubs and speakers events, and overseeing systems management and outcome reporting for MiM and related programs. This role will work with students, faculty and administrators across Kellogg and Northwestern to create, implement and lead programming designed to encourage students to proactively manage their academic, extracurricular and career experiences. Identifies engagement efforts for 400+ students, coordinating their co-curricular experience.

Please note: In-person role on the Chicago campus with 1 remote day per week when the academic calendar allows. Occasional weekends and evenings as requested and with some possible travel, as required.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Develop new relationships and expand existing relationships with MiM employers through direct outreach, plus collaboration and liaising with Northwestern's Career Advancement team, the Kellogg Career Management Center, and other specialty masters programs across Northwestern. Coordinate and execute all aspects of annual employment related events and activities, such as the fall treks, employer panels, mock interviews, generating the MiM resume book, etc.
  • Alumni Engagement: Engage with alumni to identify ways that they can volunteer and engage with the program in support of recruiting MiM students.
  • Student Engagement: Partner with MiM student clubs to support quarterly speaking events, create and send out regular MiM career newsletter to students at matriculation (summer) through end of program (spring), manage career related material for the student intranet. Serve as first point of contact for Career Coaches with support from Early Career Programs Director. Plan, schedule, and facilitate all aspects of career development workshops, led by Coaches, in coordination with Career Coaches and Director. Occasional presentations on Career Support programing & the state of the marketplace. Workshops include quarterly offerings to students, Summer Bootcamps, and Career Day offerings during orientation and pre-term.
  • Systems Management & Reporting: Manage annual post graduation data collection for MiM and CPU, coordinate system access for MiM students (12Twenty, Handshake, Standout, etc.), collaborate with career coaches to report on coaching appointment data, act as resident Handshake expert.
  • Miscellaneous: Collaborate with the Kellogg Certificate program for Undergraduates (CPU) to stay up to date on employment trends.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.

  • 4 years of experience required, with experience in industry relations or business development .

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and trends and create actionable solutions and strategies.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy required.

  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and organization skills required.

  • Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in recruiting, human resources, or a career management office preferred

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Experience with career management systems or other CRMs
  • Business development: Experience in relationship building with employers or industry professionals
  • Ability to generate and analyze reports to inform decision making

Target hiring range for this position will be $79,000 - $84,000 per year. Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
