We're seeking an experienced HSE Consultant to join the team with a global biotechnology company in the RTP area!



This person will provide management/supervision to ensure all site associates understand and comply with all applicable regulatory, plant and corporate EHS and related policies and procedures.

This is a project-based position for 6-12 months and will work part-time hours of 8-16 hours per week.

Responsibilities -


  • Ensures that all EHS reporting is completed timely and accurately
  • Maintains safety systems, policies, and procedures for the site
  • Inspects facilities, machinery, equipment, and personnel practices to identify potential safety and health concerns and hazards
  • Conducts accident investigation and provides recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Acts as Company representative in dealing with government agencies on safety, health and environmental matters affecting the site
  • Develops health and safety procedures for all areas of the company
  • Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics
  • Compiles and submits required safety, health, and environmental reports to corporate and regulatory agencies
  • Assist with managing contractor EHS compliance
  • Performs other duties as assigned


Requirements -


  • 5-10 years of hands-on ESH experience, ideally chemical handling
  • Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or scientific field preferred
  • CSP or CIH certification ideal or OSHA 30-hour certified
  • Proficient computer skills (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Ability to deliver training materials utilizing various types of media
  • The employee will occasionally have to lift up to 50 pounds
