Position Summary:
Over the past 2 years, the Bimbo Bakeries "alternative" distribution channel business unit (Bimbo Bakehouse) has launched a new distribution channel referred to the "Fresh Breadbox".The Fresh Breadbox program is expanding from the South-Central region to national coverage in 2026.As a result of this aggressive growth, we have developed the Manager, Supply Chain - Breadbox role to lead the operational end-to-end supply chain regionally for the Fresh Breadbox program.
The role will be accountable for managing and leading all aspects of the operational supply chain for this program including managing and collaborating with bakeries, third-party/owned warehouse operations, demand/supply planning, business technology, and commercial teams to ensure end-to-end supply chain is effectively supporting customer growth and demand.This role will also be integral to designing a scalable solution to "shift and lift" as the business scales to national coverage across multiple distribution locations.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on operator with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience managing both internal teams and third-party logistics partners.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Supply Chain Operations:
  • Oversee the full order lifecycle-including order entry, validation, and communication to operations.
  • Ensure purchase orders are created, tracked, and managed in alignment with the Bakery schedule
  • Work cross functionally with bakeries on contingency plans for unexpected downtime and holiday planning
  • Manage inventory levels across all units of measure (eaches, cases, pallets, etc.).
  • Ensure accurate receiving processes and system transactions.
  • Monitor and mitigate risks such as excess, shortages, and aging inventory.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the third-party logistics provider.
  • Monitor 3PL KPIs (accuracy, timeliness, productivity, cost), addressing issues and driving continuous improvement.
  • Ensure outbound shipments meet customer requirements and adhere to the weekly delivery schedule.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives including system enhancements, SOP development, and automation.
Supply Chain Modeling and Analysis:
  • Efficient management and maintenance of large datasets of supply chain data.
  • Model and construct dynamic spreadsheets that allow for sensitivity testing of supply chain inputs and a variety of scenarios.
  • Capability to summarize data into information that drives action.
  • Develop, manage and maintain supply chain metrics and Key Performance Indicators.
  • Work cross functionally with Finance and Sales to develop and manage P&L for location specific Breadbox programs
Customer Support/Leadership:
  • Be a knowledgeable source on customer supply chain and assist when cross-functional concern arises
  • Proactively resolve customer satisfaction issues
  • Develop and implement internal modifications to better service the customer and BBU
  • Manage and foster relationships with internal and external customers

Education and Work History:
  • Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree a plus.
  • 5+ years of supply chain operational, financial, and strategic experience
  • General understanding of WMS and ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of consumer, food manufacturing and supply chain
  • Microsoft office (Outlook, Word, Advanced Excel, Power Point, Intermediate Access)
