Job Description:

Providing for loved ones, planning rewarding retirements, saving enough for whatever lies ahead - our policyholders count on us to be there when it matters most. It's a big ask, but it's one that we have the power to deliver when we work together. We collaborate and innovate - pushing one another to transform not just Pacific Life, but the entire industry for the better. Why? Because it's the right thing to do. Pacific Life is more than a job, it's a career with purpose. It's a career where you have the support, balance, and resources to make a positive impact on the future - including your own.

We're actively seeking a talented Sr. Business System Analyst to join our Enterprise Financial Solutions team in Newport Beach, CA.

As a Sr. Business System Analyst, Enterprise Financial Solutions you'll help move Pacific Life, and your career forward, by serving as the critical bridge between our internal accounting and finance teams and our external Managed Services Provider. You'll support, optimize, and enhance our Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) platform - specifically ARCS (Account Reconciliation Cloud Service), FCCS (Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud Service), and Narrative Reporting. This is a high-impact liaison role where your ability to translate business needs into technical solutions will directly improve our month-end close, reconciliation accuracy, and financial reporting efficiency.

We're seeking talented professionals who bring deep domain knowledge in financial reconciliations, consolidations, and close processes. If you've worked with leading competitor platforms or have strong accounting experience using Oracle tools as an end-user and want to grow into a technical role, this could be the perfect opportunity to leverage your skills while building specialized Oracle expertise.

How you'll help move us forward:

  • Partner with accounting teams to gather requirements, document processes, and prioritize enhancements for ARCS, FCCS, and Narrative Reporting.

  • Collaborate with our Managed Services Provider on configuration, testing, issue resolution, and system optimizations.

  • Support end-to-end financial close processes: account reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, consolidations, and narrative/reporting workflows.

  • Perform user acceptance testing (UAT), train finance users, and drive adoption of new features or process improvements.

  • Analyze system performance, troubleshoot issues, and recommend solutions that align with accounting standards and business objectives.

  • Document requirements, test scripts, and process flows to maintain audit-ready system integrity.

The experience you will bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in finance/accounting operations, systems support, or business analysis.

  • Strong understanding of financial close processes, reconciliations, consolidations, and GAAP/IFRS reporting.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - you'll be the "translator" between business users and technical teams.

What will make you stand out:

  • Hands on experience with Oracle EPM (Financial Consolidation & Close, Account Reconciliation, Narrative Reporting) and Oracle EDM applications.

  • OR Hands-on experience with competitor platforms in the same space, such as:

    • BlackLine, Trintech (Cadency), FloQast, or OneStream (for reconciliations and close management)

    • OneStream, SAP BPC or similar (for consolidations and EPM)

    • Workiva or other narrative/reporting tools
(Your process and configuration knowledge will transfer directly!)

  • Accounting or finance experience where you've been a power user of Oracle EPM tools (or similar cloud financial systems) and are eager to move into a more technical BSA role. We love candidates who know the "business side" inside out and want to grow their systems expertise.

  • A passion for process improvement, automation, and helping accounting teams work smarter.
