Description

Acara Solution is seeking a Space Force - Interoperability Test Engineer for our client, located in Scottsdale, AZ.

  • As a software and test engineer for the SDA program, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for interoperability testing.
  • Design, develop, and execute test plans to verify interoperability between Space Force systems and joint/allied platforms.
  • Validate data exchange, command-and-control (C2), and mission integration across multiple systems.
  • Assess how space systems integrate with DoD, coalition, and commercial architectures.
  • Identify interface issues, data format mismatches, latency problems, and protocol incompatibilities.
  • Translate operational and interoperability requirements into measurable test objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with DoD standards, joint interoperability certifications, and Space Force technical baselines.
  • Support or develop testbeds, simulations, digital twins, and operational test environments.
  • Coordinate live, virtual, and constructive (LVC) testing events.
  • Analyze test results, document deficiencies, and work with system developers to resolve interoperability issues.
  • Perform regression testing after fixes or system updates.
  • Work closely with program offices, operators, contractors, joint services, and international partners to ensure seamless collaboration and effective execution.
  • Support joint exercises, demonstrations, and operational test events.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering or Science or Engineering or Technology or Mathematics with 2 years of experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Network (routing, analysis, signal processing).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in System Testing and Troubleshooting.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Test and Process Automation and Tooling.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Hardware/Software Integration.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree with 6 months of experience.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and Python.
  • Good understanding of the software development process, as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and theories.
  • Creative thinker capable of applying new information quickly to solve challenging problems.
  • Comfortable providing technical leadership.
  • Team player who thrives in collaborative environments and revels in team success.
  • Able to perform activities with limited oversight.
  • Ability to apply System Engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication skills.
