The Opportunity with McKinstry

Note: This is a limited term role with an expected duration of 6 months.

We are seeking a Sr. Capital Program Manager - Manufacturing to join our Offsite Manufacturing division in Seattle, WA. This role leads the design, budget development, and construction of new facilities and improvement projects within a manufacturing setting. Manages the full cycle of capital projects, to include architectural and design development, project cost estimate and budget development, preconstruction, permitting, construction management, and project turnover. Controls project budgets and manages associated reporting. Directs and coordinates work between internal resources, external consultants, and construction contractors. Works in close coordination with business unit leadership and key operations stakeholders. Contributes to capital planning and budgeting processes as they relate to facilities development, improvement, and maintenance. Additional responsibilities may include:

* Financial Management and Budget Control: accountable for managing all financial aspects of the project portfolio, including developing detailed capital budgets, monitoring expenditures, processing pay applications, and managing change orders to ensure the project remains financially viable.

* Full Project Lifecycle & Schedule Adherence: responsible for overseeing projects from initial scope definition and planning through detailed design, construction execution, and closeout. A key accountability is developing and managing detailed schedules, identifying critical paths, and ensuring timely delivery of projects.

* Risk, Safety, and Compliance Oversight: proactively identify and mitigate risks through formal risk management plans. They are accountable for managing project safety programs (adhering to OSHA/cGMP standards) and ensuring all work complies with regulatory requirements, codes, and quality standards.

* Stakeholder, Team, and Communication Management: leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams (internal engineering, external contractors, tenants, and operations). The manager is accountable for stakeholder coordination/alignment and providing clear, frequent status reporting to senior leadership.

* Procurement and Contract Administration: directly responsible for leading the entire bid process (SOWs, RFPs, contract awards) and then administering those contracts, ensuring quality control during execution and a smooth, well-documented project closeout and turnover to operations.

What you need to succeed at McKinstry

  • Working knowledge of construction project lifecycle: design, planning, budgeting, preconstruction, project execution, close out.

  • Project management and strong communication skills critical.

  • Experience working for a General Contractor desirable.

  • Proficiency with scheduling software (e.g. Project, Primavera) desirable.

  • Project management certifications desirable.

  • B.S. in construction management or engineering, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 15+ years of operations and or facility management experience.

  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience desirable.

  • 5+ year geographical expansion experience desirable.

The pay range for this position is $118,170 - $210,100 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
