Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% outpatient (cover inpatient as needed)

Patients: 100% Adult

Position Overview:

Henry Ford Health System is seeking an experienced Pain Management Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our growing team across multiple locations. This full-time position offers the opportunity to practice independently, participate in monthly Journal Club meetings, and pursue future leadership roles within a supportive, collaborative environment. The role includes a mix of ambulatory and inpatient practice with no call and no weekend responsibilities, allowing for excellent work-life balance. Candidates must have at least one year of APP experience; new graduates are not being considered.

Schedule - Full-Time, Days. 5x8 hour shifts. 7a-330p AND rotating 4x10 for a late call (in basket task)

Weekend requirement - No.

Call requirement - No.

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Specialty/Invasive Nurse Practitioner (NP) will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. The Specialty/Invasive NP will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, consultation, and care coordination as a first line provider to patients and their families. Provides inpatient and/or outpatient medical care. Works in collaboration with attending physicians, advanced practice providers, consultants, house officers, nurses, and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved safely and efficiently. Specific procedures as per credentialing as indicated by training and experience. Works in one of the following departments: Cardiovascular Medicine, Emergency Medicine, ICU, Interventional Radiology, Nephrology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Orthopedics, Otolaryngology, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Surgery, Urgent Care, Urology. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Master's degree in nursing. CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner. Current State license as a Registered Nurse. Current BLS. Current ACLS/ATLS/PALS provider status as required by department.

Qualifications:

* NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

* PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

* NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

* PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Licensure and Certification

* Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)

* National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)

* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

* DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

Department would work with provider to get certified after hiring as well.

Experience

* At least one year experience as an APP.

* EPIC preferred.
