Technical Publication Solution Architect

REMOTE

Dayton T. Brown has a perfect opportunity for a Full-Time, Technical Publication Solution Architect to join our amazing, talented team in our Technical Services Division.

This position is ideal for an expert in technical publication systems e.g., CSDB, print and IETM/P, to include S1000D, MIL-STD-40051, ATA, and other aerospace and defense standards. You have the confidence to work as a customer-facing technical authority for major Aerospace and Defense Programs. You will work directly with DTB program managers, Subject Matter Experts, and external customers, to provide your lessons learned and 'Best Practices' in the development, integration, and lifecycle sustainment of Aerospace and Defense technical publications, and training products.

You will be responsible for the following:



  • S1000D and other aerospace and defense technical authoring and publishing environments, including Business Rule Decision Points, SNS, BREX file and DMRL development.
  • Attending in-person and virtual meetings with DTB customers to develop and maintain strong relationships
  • Clear and concise communications to describe new and/or improved processes, technologies, potential risks, solutions, and options for action plans.
  • Evaluation of new and current technologies, used for aerospace and defense technical publications, and training development for customers.
  • Develop and deliver training for customers on standards, specifications, tools, and workflows used for technical publications development and publishing.
  • Assist with proposal development and estimates technical publications and training development.
  • Update and develop DTB and customer processes and workflows to meet or exceed all specification and quality requirements.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and new technology for the future of technical publication development and publishing.



You're the ideal candidate if you have proven success in aerospace and defense technical publication lifecycle sustainment processes, and the following qualifications:



  • 10+ years' experience with Commercial technical publications, or Aerospace and Defense technical publications, or equivalent.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with technical publications development in accordance with S1000D, MIL-STD-40051, MIL-STD-38784, MIL-STD-2361, MIL-HDBK-2361, ATA 100, iSpec 2200, MIL-STD-3001, MIL-STD-3031, and/or MIL-STD-3048.
  • Extensive experience with markup languages (SGML, XML), Data Type Definition (DTD) and Schematron.
  • Knowledge of stylesheet (FOSI, XSLT, XSL-FO, CSS) development and update to assist in publishing output for various customers and program requirements.
  • In-depth knowledge of OxygenXML, Arbortext and Arbortext Publishing Engine, as well as Antenna House publisher.
  • Ability to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance if required.
