Summary: Our client is expanding its Intelligent Automation (IA) capability and is seeking a Emerging Technology Lead to join their growing team. This direct-hire role focuses on supporting and enhancing UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform automations to ensure they are healthy, secure, reliable, and continuously improving. The ideal candidate will serve as the first line of technical support for production automations-owning incident response, triage, root-cause analysis, and long-term reliability engineering. This is a hybrid role (3 days onsite, 2 remote) with a preferred location in Oshkosh, WI; relocation assistance is available. Responsibilities:
- Monitor, triage, and resolve production issues across UiPath RPA, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, and related integrations within defined SLAs.
- Own end-to-end incident response, including impact assessment, stakeholder communication, workarounds, permanent fixes, and post-incident reviews.
- Analyze logs, telemetry, and run history to reduce false positives and prevent recurring issues.
- Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge articles for Level 1/2 support.
- Implement automated health checks, alerts, and self-healing patterns where applicable.
- Administer UiPath Orchestrator (scheduling, assets/queues, robot capacity) and Power Platform environments (security roles, DLP policies, solution management).
- Enforce governance around connectors, credential management, environment strategy, and least-privilege access models.
- Support license management, platform updates, and environment provisioning in partnership with IT.
- Use Azure DevOps/Git to manage source control, CI/CD pipelines, and release processes for UiPath and Power Platform solutions.
- Follow ITIL-aligned change management practices; prepare deployment and backout plans, and validate releases with smoke tests.
- Maintain configuration-as-code and ensure consistent versioning and tagging.
- Deliver small enhancements including bug fixes, performance optimizations, and minor new features.
- Identify workflow simplification opportunities and promote standardization and reuse.
- Contribute to shared component libraries (UiPath activities, Power Automate templates, Power Fx patterns).
- Ensure compliance with SOC controls, credential vaulting, logging/auditability, and data protection standards.
- Support internal audit, cybersecurity, and IT requests for evidence, access reviews, and control testing.
- Provide clear communication during incidents and planned maintenance.
- Support business UAT for hotfixes and minor releases.
- Train citizen developers and champion best practices in automation reliability and governance.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years in RPA/automation or application support, including hands-on experience with UiPath and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).
- Strong proficiency with UiPath Orchestrator and Power Platform Admin Center.
- Experience working with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change) and ITSM tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
- Working knowledge of ALM practices using Git/Azure DevOps, solution packaging, managed/unmanaged solutions, and release gates.
- Strong troubleshooting skills across APIs/integrations (REST/SOAP), SQL/Dataverse, and authentication (AAD, OAuth).
- Clear verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first support mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- UiPath and Microsoft certifications such as UiPath RPA Developer Associate, UiPath Orchestrator, PL-400, or PL-600.
- Background in manufacturing and familiarity with ERP/MES/PLM systems or shop-floor processes.
- Experience with Power Platform CoE Starter Kit and Center of Excellence methodologies.
- Knowledge of secure credential management, RBAC, and least-privilege design.
- Basic development skills (C#/VB.NET, Power Fx, JSON, SQL).
- Experience in a centralized Intelligent Automation Center of Excellence.
