The Rutgers Business School Finance Team plays a vital role in supporting the academic and administrative operations of the School. The team collaborates closely with Department Chairs, Center and Program Directors, and Principal Investigators to provide day-to-day budget support and financial management. They oversee a broad portfolio of financial functions-including grants, state, designated, and endowment accounts-ensuring compliance and transparency through regular budget monitoring and reporting. Acting as key partners in policy administration, grant preparation, and purchasing, the team provides leadership and guidance to departmental staff, assists with budget strategy and training, and fosters strong collaboration across all departments. Dedicated to making impactful, positive changes, the Finance Team is committed to creating and cultivating a culture of positivity, inclusion, and continuous improvement across Rutgers Business School's regional campuses. |

Rutgers Business School - Newark and New Brunswick is the largest professional school at Rutgers University, spanning two campuses and several off-site locations.
RBS programs consist of undergraduate and graduate business programs offered on the Newark and New Brunswick campuses with over 650 Faculty and Part-Time Lecturers, almost 200 staff members, and hundreds of student workers.
RBS currently has 6 academic departments, 20 research centers, an Executive Education Program, and an evolving online degree program.
The Business Manager
III will be responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Collaborates and provides day day-to-day budget support to Department Chairs, Center Program Directors, and Principal Investigators.
- Provides overall administration management and coordination with departmental support staff to administrate policies, grant proposal preparation, and purchasing.
- Manage and monitor all financial functions associated with their assigned department's portfolio [academic, administrative, specialty programs, centers, etc.] and provide monthly budget reports to the Business Manager and Senior Associate Dean of Administration and Finance as requested.
- Serves as the primary contact during the working budget preparation process including but not limited to state, grants, designated, endowments, and restricted accounts.
- Responsible for performing level first-level review and support for research financial projects and inquiries.
- Makes recommendations on policies and procedures related to budgetary models and other initiatives with budgetary implications.
- Represents the Business Manager and or Sr. Associate Dean on campus committees, sessions, and workshops, as necessary.
- Serves as a collaborative partner to provide leadership to department administrative staff with problem solving, training, and strategy regarding budget-related inquires.
- Travel amongst regional campuses required.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting and administrative principles and practices and university regulations governing accounting transactions
- Requires a minimum of five years of relevant professional experience in a financial/accounting function, excellent communication skills, and computer literacy

- Must have a collaborative work style, excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), with intermediate knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong work ethic and ability to juggle priorities simultaneously; detailed oriented and highly organized.
- Knowledge and experience with journal entries, financial statement preparation, and general accounting concepts are also required.
- Able to work independently and to exercise confidentiality and discretion in the operational decision making process.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
