Job Description




As a Security Officer - Unarmed Patrol Education in Philadelphia, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Security Officer with Allied Universal at an educational location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and creating a welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. You will conduct routine patrols on foot and/or by bike, remain highly visible, and deliver exceptional customer service through proactive communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, faculty, students, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within an educational environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, maintaining a professional presence throughout the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around campus buildings and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activities and identify potential issues.
  • Monitor access points and observe activity throughout the location to help to deter unauthorized individuals from entering restricted areas.
  • Document observations, incidents, and activities in detailed reports as required by site-specific procedures.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and/or emergency services during critical situations as directed by site management.
  • Assist individuals on the premises by providing directions, answering questions, and offering general support as needed.
  • Remain alert to surroundings and changing conditions in order to address any security-related concerns at the location.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Ability to ride a bike for long periods of time is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
