The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center and Certified Behavioral Health Clinic serving Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We provide high-quality care to all individuals, regardless of their financial circumstances. The Guidance Center (TGC) is currently seeking a Youth Attendant Care Worker to be the newest member of our innovative interdisciplinary team. This position provides attendant care services to clients being served through the Center's CBS program on a group and individual basis. Evenings Required (1+ days per week after 5 p). Pay and Benefits:
Primary Duties: 1. Provide attendant care services which assist with promoting successful completion of daily activities 2. Encourage and support clients' engagement in pro-social activities 3. Encourage and support clients' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others 4. Work respectfully and supportively with clients' parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries 5. Transport clients to and from activities or appointments when necessary 6. Understand direct service requirements and efficiency goals established by TGC for the position, and achieve same 7. Provide documentation (clinical notes, reports, and other professional products) which complies with TGC's Quality Improvement standards and the requirements of all funding sources. 8. Facilitate/co-facilitate groups as assigned 9. Be able to organize work to meet direct service expectations and Center requirements 10. Adapt to changing work priorities and a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism EDUCATION AND LICENSURE: One year of college course work in the field of human services, or one year experience in the field of human services, or combination of education and work experience in the field of human services which equal one year. EXPERIENCE: Required: Six months experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included. Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
