Operations and Supply Chain Supervisor

Overview:
The Operations and Supply Chain Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the successful performance of plant operations by directing the incoming and outgoing supply chain for the Crestline, OH plant including scheduling/planning, inventory management, cycle counting, finished stock management, work order management, and rack management. The position is also responsible for key performance indicators across all areas of supply chain and helps to ensure timely delivery of product to our customers while avoiding premium freight costs. This position is also responsible for shipping and receiving as well as all floor activities related to production. Incumbent reports to the plant Supply Chain Manager in addition to directing the activities of the 3/4 reports (Production Schedulers, Purchasing and Supplies Coordinator and a Data Editor).

Responsibilities:

• Keep track of key performance indicators (KPIs) across different functions.
• Monitor compliance with company policies and the progress of administrative tasks (e.g. managing inventory).
• Create production schedules.
• Create customer shipment papers.
• Manage shipments to avoid premium freight costs.
• Manage finished stock production and inbound materials to keep inventory costs at a minimum.
• Communicate with OEM customers to ensure timely shipments.
• Communicate with supervisors, executive team, to achieve company goals.
• Create work orders for production staff to report production activities in SAP.
• Monitor glass demands in SAP and update data as needed.
• Responsible for rack inventory. Entering daily receipts and quarterly counts.
• Oversee the activities of office staff

JOB-RELATED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, COURSES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

• Bachelor's Degree (prefer Business or Supply Chain management) or equivalent experience
• Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus
• Experience with SAP preferred
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated organizational skills required
• Ability to oversee employees and work as a team
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, peers, management and vendors
• Ability to work independently and manage projects to established timelines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Vitro Automotive operates complex automotive glass production facilities. This position is primarily located in an office setting however, interaction on the manufacturing floor will be required. Safety equipment is required and provided. Some of the work will require exposure to loud noises or fumes in the plant facility.
• This position is located in an office environment.
• Scheduled work hours are Monday - Friday; Overtime, weekend, and evening hours may be required.
• Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
