About Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program

The Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme is a signature initiative for the Australian Government that enables workers from 9 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) and Timor- Leste to work in priority sectors in Australia. The Pacific Labour Mobility Support Program's (PLMSP) role is to provide the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and governments in 9 PICs and Timor-Leste with support to enable workers to access PALM scheme in inclusive ways that maximise the benefits for the workers and national economies while minimising risks from labour mobility participation. Palladium is contracted to deliver PLMSP on behalf of DFAT.

This Opportunity

The Production Coordinator will support the PLMSP media and communications activities to facilitate the sustainable expansion of Pacific labour mobility, manage the reputation of the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme and provide important information to labour mobility stakeholders in Australia, the Pacific and Timor-Leste. The position will monitor media sentiment and trends across all 11 participating countries in the PALM scheme by providing twice daily media monitoring, biannual and annual media reports for PLMSP stakeholders. It will also monitor community attitudes across the sending countries through regular engagement with PLMSP colleagues and monitoring of social media in the sending countries

This is a fixed term opportunity required to September 2028. This position is based in either Brisbane, Australia or Suva, Fiji.

The Production Coordinator will be responsible for:

The primary responsibilities of the Production Coordinator can be broadly described as follows:

* Produce daily media monitoring and reporting on communications activities, as well as drafting the monthly media report, reviewing and advising on the biannual and annual media report.

* Monitor stakeholder social media accounts in Australia and the sending countries and provide weekly updates to the communications team.

* Draft social media content, ensuring approval processes are followed, documented and filed.

* Manage social media scheduling and prepare monthly reports.

* Prepare talking points and backgrounders as needed.

* Maintain content development calendars for PLMSP and partner channels.

* Support the administration of short-term advisors including writers, graphic designers and photographers.

* Provide general administration support to the communication team including taking minutes at meetings and ensuring action items are followed up as required.

* Liaise with operations and communications teams, other PLMSP staff and partners to support communications procurement activities.

* Assist with special projects, such as process improvements and implementing new policies and communications platforms or channels.

* Understand how innovation and technology shape the way we work and introduce new ways of working through AI, data and technology.

We are seeking an individual who:

* Tertiary qualifications in media, communications, marketing or information related industries.

* Minimum 4 years' relevant work experience in production, administration, social media management or communications

* Good working knowledge of content production using a range of channels/tools and software, e.g. Yammer, SharePoint, Microsoft suite,

* Good working knowledge of social media channel management and media monitoring.

* Experience in using digital media and producing content to build an online audience.

* Fluency in written and spoken English, ability to multitask, be well organised and with a high attention to detail.

* Skilled in using Microsoft Office software and experience with photography and/or videography.

* Personal initiative, creativity, and drive.

* Experience working in the Pacific and with geographically dispersed teams and communicating with a range of stakeholder groups (e.g., the Australian Government, private sector and the general public).
