The Role

The Senior Manager, Sales Finance OpEx contributes to the company's success by providing timely, actionable advice on sales strategy and operations. Partners closely with Sales Leaders to manage OPEX budgets, forecasts, and reporting, and to drive business performance through integrated financial planning and analysis. Oversees the development and implementation of effective, integrated systems for budgeting, payables, reporting, and auditing revenues, expenditures, and asset accountability, with a focus on supporting sales growth and operational excellence

The Main Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sales Finance Partner: Serve as a trusted finance partner to Sales business units, leveraging interpersonal skills to build collaborative, value-based relationships with Sales Leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Commission Expertise: Provide subject matter expertise on internal and external commission structures, including design, modeling, and analysis of commission plans. Support the administration and optimization of commission processes to align incentives and drive sales productivity.
  • Consumption-Based Selling: Demonstrate a strong understanding of consumption-based selling motions and their financial implications. Advise Sales Leaders on forecasting, pipeline management, and revenue recognition for consumption-based products and services.
  • OPEX Budget & Forecast Support: Lead the financial planning process for Sales OPEX budgets, including kickoff meetings, timeline management, data loads, and scenario modeling. Partner with Sales Leaders to develop accurate forecasts and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Integrated Business Partnership: Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams to deliver integrated business support, including variance analysis, root cause identification, and actionable insights to drive sales performance.
  • Reporting & Analytics: Develop and deliver timely, accurate, and relevant financial and operating reports for Sales leadership. Ensure transparency in management reporting and business-line performance, including commission expense, sales productivity, and margin analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, tools, and reporting to support the evolving needs of the Sales organization. Champion standardization and automation to enable scalable growth.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop financial managers and analysts, fostering a culture of excellence, professional development, and career growth within the FP&A team.
  • Cross-Functional Initiatives: Participate in or lead cross-departmental projects to support sales transformation, system implementations, and business process enhancements.
What We Look For in a Candidate
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, with a focus on supporting Sales organizations and P&L management.
  • Proven experience with commission plan design, modeling, and administration (internal and external).
  • Strong understanding of consumption-based selling and its impact on financial planning and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with Sales Leaders on OPEX budgets, forecasts, and business performance management.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analysis tools; experience with ERP systems (SAP a plus).
  • Expertise in developing and delivering management reports, including commission expense, sales productivity, and margin analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to communicate clearly to multiple levels within the organization.
  • Experience leading and transforming finance teams in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Power BI or Tableau skills and previous experience working with those tools.
  • Ability to work from office 1-2 days a week.
Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO
