Description

The Director, Executive Development role is an opportunity to develop the future of executive leadership at Salesforce. The global Executive Talent & Succession (ETS) team is looking for a visionary leader to empower our most senior executives (SVP+) to lead with greater impact, drive human-agent collaboration, and shape the next era of success.

This role is directly responsible for ensuring the successful design and delivery of development experiences for our SVP+ executives. The primary focus is to create and implement world-class leadership development journeys, including cohort-based experiential learning, custom individual programs, and 1:1 and team executive coaching. This position requires a visionary leader who understands Generative AI and Agents, eager to leverage them for program efficiency and executive awareness. As a trusted advisor, the Executive Development Director will utilize deep learning design/facilitation expertise, strong business acumen, and subject-matter expertise in senior leadership development to create innovative, measurable learning experiences that strengthen the talent pipeline in a fast-paced, global technology company.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as one of Exec Talent's subject matter experts regarding what Salesforce needs from its most senior leaders, as well as what these senior leaders need in order to grow and perform at their best in a sustainable and healthy way

  • Provides the day-to-day management of leadership development experiences, including overall responsibility for strategy, design, delivery, evaluation, and on-going relationship management with internal and external stakeholders and partners

  • Partners closely with the business, key stakeholders and Employee Success Business Partners in all phases of the development process. Collaborates with 1-3 team members to design and deliver the above experiences to Salesforce's most senior leaders, as well as the broader Exec Talent & Succession team and global leadership development team.

  • Facilitates live development sessions, interactive meetings, and a variety of Exec Talent programs via multiple modalities to diverse audiences of senior executives, Executive Leadership Team (ELT) members, customers and prominent speakers.

  • Consults with business executives to understand and address their development needs, identifies appropriate sponsorship for programs and initiatives, and ensures alignment with business partners

  • Stays close to the business strategies and priorities internally to Salesforce and externally in the industry, to ensure alignment and relevancy to the content.

  • Provides both strategic and operational support for the design and delivery of a variety of cutting edge development, teaming, and coaching programs, including budget, vendor, and stakeholder management

  • Develops specific evaluation and assessment tools to measure impact, including: business results, ROI, enhanced talent pipeline, and improved behaviors clearly demonstrated

  • Drives continuous improvement, innovation, accountability, and scalability of development initiatives

  • Develops and maintains learning assets, curriculum, and a variety of executive development best practices that align with organizational goals and values

  • Acts as mentor and coach to colleagues and emerging facilitators, coaches, and development practitioners across the business

  • Manages multi-stakeholder special projects as needed, including developing project teams, managing priorities, and delivering results

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive Leadership/Organization Development (OD) or Organizational Effectiveness (OE) experience within large, complex, global organizations.

  • Graduate degree or certificate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Leadership/Organization Development (OD), Human Resources or Business Administration, or equivalent experience

  • Business Acumen & Strategic Integration: Maintains deep knowledge of internal business strategies and external industry trends. Ability to translate business imperatives into relevant talent and leadership development strategies that deliver measurable business value.

  • Executive-Level Stakeholder Management & Communication: Proven success navigating complex organizational structures, influencing outcomes, and building trusted, credible partnerships with the C-suite and SVP-level executives.

  • Credibility & Command: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present confidently and with authority to senior executives. Must be able to distill complex concepts into clear, concise, and compelling narratives that drive action and alignment.

  • Agility, Ambiguity, and Pace: A high degree of adaptability and proven ability to navigate uncertainty, ambiguity, and continuous change in a fast-paced, high-growth global technology environment.

  • Executive-Level Learning Design & Delivery: Expert-level facilitation skills with a track record of leading high-stakes learning experiences for senior executives. Deep knowledge of leadership and organizational development theory, change management, and instructional design strategies for adult and vertical development.

  • Drive AI Integration & Future Readiness: Actively research, pilot, and incorporate AI/Agent technologies into both the delivery of executive development programs and the content itself, ensuring senior leaders are equipped to lead in a technology-driven, agent-first future.
