Aon is looking for a Proposal Pursuit Manager

As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Aon Health Solutions - Bid Management Team.

As a Proposal Pursuit Manager, you will report directly to the Manager - Health Solutions. The Proposal Pursuit Manager will work on bids for our US Health business units. They will write, revise, proofread, and finalize proposals in response to RFPs (request for proposals) and presentations specific to client situations. The opportunities will focus on our US health lines of business.

The Proposal Pursuit Manager will lead, plan, develop, produce, and deliver proposals and presentations required by client solicitations. They will provide hands-on management of the entire full-cycle project development processes, including but not limited to: leading kick off meetings, writing customized content, monitoring timelines, editing documents, working on presentation deliverables, and ensuring compliance with the Aon brand.

The Proposal Pursuit Manager will work with colleagues across Aon Health Solutions, as well as product and industry practice sales teams, subject matter experts and designers, to ensure that proposals and presentations reflect the best technical, management, and support offerings that Aon can make in response to RFPs.

The Proposal Pursuit Manager is expected to assist in achieving national goals for new business and client retention via execution of the core responsibilities of the position, which focus on responding to offensive (new business) and defensive (retention / jeopardy) requests for proposal (RFPs) and presentations.

Your Impact as a Proposal Pursuit Manager

What the day will look like:

  • Responsible for running large and complex proposals and presentations
  • Continue to develop a practical and solid understanding of Aon solutions
  • Organize and lead proposal meetings ensuring a response strategy is established and implemented
  • Work with consultants and subject matter authorities to develop customized content
  • Partner with the lead designer to ensure proposals and presentations are visually impactful
  • Lead presentation brainstorming and development sessions
  • Effectively collaborate with graphic designers on every project
  • Ability to work independently at a fast pace while being flexible in light of project shifts

You Bring Knowledge and Expertise

Skills and experience that will lead to success:

  • 5+ years professional work experience in bid management, insurance and brokerage industry experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrable background in the development of custom strategic content (bringing to bear essential messaging/value propositions) and strong editing skills required
  • Ability to handle multiple bids simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, meeting all deadlines
  • Experience with crafting oral presentation deliverables, partnering with a designer and the account team
  • Ability to learn quickly and show flexibility to adapt in a growing group, working both independently and with a team mentality (required)
  • Demonstrates good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Working knowledge of proposal management software (SharePoint, Loopio, monday.com) strongly preferred
  • Intermediate Word, PowerPoint and Excel knowledge required

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields in communication required (relevant experience considered)

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $90,000 to $100,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
