About Our Team

Center 7600 is a product realization organization, delivering a broad range of subsystems, components, and solutions to nuclear weapons and other high consequence systems that support our national security missions. The Center consists of 4 Groups: Advanced Mechanical Design (7610), Firing & Embedded Systems (7620), Interconnects and eFAB (7630), and High Reliability Electronic Components (7640). The Advanced Mechanical Design Group (7610) designs and delivers surety mechanisms for nuclear weapon safety and security, and opto-mechanical and other precision mechanical devices for national and global security programs primarily in the space and missile system areas. The Group is divided into four main competencies: advanced development of nuclear weapon surety products, nuclear weapon product realization for weapon life extensions and alterations, surveillance of stockpile surety products, and delivery of precision mechanical products for national and global security programs. All four areas are highly active with an especially high degree of production support of components at KCNSC.

Applicants offered employment with Sandia are subject to a federal background investigation to meet the requirements for access to classified information or matter if the duties of the position require a DOE security clearance. Substance abuse or illegal drug use, falsification of information, criminal activity, serious misconduct or other indicators of untrustworthiness can cause a clearance to be denied or terminated by DOE, resulting in the inability to perform the duties assigned and subsequent termination of employment.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
