 A Brief Overview
 Perform direct supervision over members of the electrical and low voltage groups and maintenance activities. Responsible for the coordination of workload, completing work of a similar nature, inventory, materials management, training, supervision of staff, coordination of outside contractors, project management and response to customer service needs. This is a working/supervisory position.
 
 What you will do
 
 Supervises Electrical and Low Voltage assigned staff, manages and performs maintenance activities.Maintains electrical and low voltage staff competency testing evaluation records, oversees performance, and documentation.Monitors performance of staff for excellent quality and productivity.Coordinates staff schedules.Performs quarterly/semiannual performance management plans with employees, identifies and monitors duty task responsibility, goals, expected results and results achieved.Investigates/corrects, and disciplines situations of poor performance.Inspects electrical and low voltage work for conformance with trade standards, project specifications and building codes.Takes immediate steps to see deficiencies are corrected.Applies CHOP Policies and Procedures fairly and effectively.Inspects facilities; notes maintenance problems; initiates solutions.Regularly checks staff for adherence to arrival, break and departure time.Continuously monitors staff attendance, PPL usage and trends.Manages the Hospitals Electrical Safety ProgramAssigns Electrical and Low Voltage work.Clearly communicates project objectives to staff and customers.Effectively integrates P.M.'s in workload to prevent backlog.Distributes workload fairly matching skill with ability.Monitors progress, time and materials required to complete work.Investigates delays; independently takes appropriate action to resolve problems. Refers unusual or difficult problems to supervisor.Maintains effective coordination of activities within the group and with other trades as required.Meets with customers; assesses needs; clearly communicates project scope and resolution of problems.Communicates with staff to disseminate information, discuss issues and seek staff feedbackCoordinates and holds regular team staff meetings monthly.Fosters atmosphere of teamwork in group.Writes and distributes email notification organizationally for scheduled and unscheduled utility interruptions.Manages Electrical and Low Voltage maintenance projects ranging in size and scope to meet CHOP objectives.Ensures that projects are completed on or ahead of schedule.Ensures that projects are completed on or under budget.Manages vendors, contractors and in-house staff on the projects, and Master Services Agreements (MSA)Ensures that projects meet or exceed established quality, and balance user needs against overall project objectives.Provide effective and timely project communications between all parties on a regular basis.Coordinate and perform utility interruptions to limit the impact with users, Hospital operations, business continuity and staffing.Performs work of a similar nature as required.Demonstrates through own performance, standards of excellence for trade.Maintains professional development and an understanding and knowledge of critical information.Balances time spent working against supervisory responsibilities.Schedule and confirm performance on regulatory, preventative and corrective maintenance activities for all assigned locationsWillingness to work days, nights & weekends as required and on demand.Willing to work in tight, confined areas.Ability to carry heavy loads as needed.Carry and climb ladders as needed.May be required to drive company vehicles and / or drive between maintenance sites Education Qualifications 
 High School Diploma / GED - RequiredTechnical Diploma Electrical Maintenance or similar skill Trade - Required Experience Qualifications 
 At least five (5) years working experience in institutional or industrial electrical maintenance. Required andAt least three (3) years experience supervising, coaching, and training electrical maintenance staff. Required Skills and Abilities 
 Ability to operate a company vehicle and/or be insured on a CHOP policy.Experience with CMMS software, email and windows applications.Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Understanding of electrical equipment and power/distribution systems (service, switchgear,transformers, generators, ATS, UPS, power panels, lighting, grounding and bonding, motor control centers, fire alarm, communications, CCTV, access control, and security.)Understanding of network wiring (Cat 5e, and above cabling and termination techniques)Knowledge of installing, terminating, testing, labeling and documenting horizontal, backbone and other cables.Dressing and routing cable into telecommunications closets, modular furniture and other work area outlets.Firestopping of various types of cable and conduit penetrations in accordance with applicable codes and standards.As directed is responsible for the performance, of electrical utility interruptions in adherence with the Hospitals utility interruption process including Lock Out, Tag Out policy.Understanding of electronic circuitry and terminology (relay, contacts, AC-DC voltage, resistance,ability to read a schematic, etc.)Experience in installation, construction, operating power tools, interpreting drawings, plans,diagrams, schematics, with an understanding of specifications, and reading technical manuals.Aptitude or background in working with electronics and communications technology.Ability to distinguish the full spectrum of colors in order to work with color coded wiring. Licenses and Certifications
