     | About the Department | North Carolina State University's College of Veterinary Medicine (NC State
CVM) is a dynamic community whose members are dedicated to preparing veterinarians, veterinarian scientists, and biomedical scientists while advancing animal and human health from the cellular level through entire ecosystems.

The Department of Molecular Biomedical Sciences at the NC State
CVM trains veterinarians, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows in research-based careers focused on discovering new information about animal and human health and disease and using those findings to enhance animal and human health and wellbeing

The Guilluy lab investigates the regulation of nuclear functions by the cellular microenvironment. We are particularly focused on understanding how adhesion signaling transmits cues that govern nuclear dynamics, which in turn regulate cellular behavior and phenotype. Specifically, we explore how these signals influence critical processes in the nucleus, such as gene expression and genome organization. Our research employs a multidisciplinary approach, routinely utilizing cell culture (cell lines), quantitative fluorescent imaging, microfabrication, Atomic Force Microcopy and biochemical techniques. For molecular analysis, we frequently apply next-generation sequencing methods, including
ATAC-seq and mRNA-seq, in conjunction with genetic manipulation tools like siRNA and shRNA.
