Posting Summary
The Joseph C. Cornwall Center for Metropolitan Studies is seeking to hire a temporary Qualitative Researcher to conduct and manage a short-term, evaluation project studying the relationships between urban neighborhood organizations and community outcomes. The Researcher will conduct qualitative data collection and cleaning, data management, data mining, statistical modeling, develop data visualizations and dashboards, and write reports for stakeholders and the public. The Researcher may supervise graduate student researchers.
The Qualitative Researcher will work on projects involving large-scale, longitudinal data. Strong qualitative skills, data management and maintenance of databases, and experience working with community groups are essential. The Researcher will contribute to planning and presenting at the Center's research convenings. The Researcher must be committed to using research as tool for achieving equity. Experience with place-based research would be very advantageous as would familiarity with research on school change and funding. Cornwall research projects are in partnership with various local and state stakeholder groups and focus on numerous topics in K-12 education, urban planning, and community stability.

Minimum Education and Experience
Ph.D., preferably in public policy, education, sociology, economics, public administration, or a related field. Master's degree holders in relevant fields may be considered but only in cases where candidate has substantial (5 years or more) relevant experience with clear evidence of effectiveness.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Position requires a person with excellent organizational talents, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work with diverse interests in a spirit of mutual cooperation. Strong written and oral communication skills are essential.
