 Acara Solutions is looking for a Furnace Engineer for one of our clients located in Niagara Falls, NY. The Furnace Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining all thermal processing operations across Client's induction, vacuum, and natural gas furnaces. This position plays a key role in ensuring process uniformity, repeatability, and efficiency in the production of high-temperature carbon, graphite, and ceramic materials used in aerospace, defense, and energy applications. 
  Base Salary: $120,000Direct Placement Onsite Monday-Friday standard business hours  Responsibilities: 
  Develop, document, and optimize furnace recipes, cycles, and operating parameters to improve product consistency and throughput.Oversee day-to-day furnace and cooling tower operations, including carbonization, graphitization, and sintering. Lead projects to upgrade and modernize furnace systems, including controls, refractory design, and insulation optimization.Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and production teams to troubleshoot process deviations, mechanical issues, and instrumentation faults.Implement data-driven process controls and monitoring systems for temperature uniformity, gas flow, and atmosphere control.Define calibration and maintenance schedules for temperature, pressure, and flow sensors. Work with internal resources, suppliers and contractors to specify and install new furnaces, thermal insulation, and induction systems.Analyze process data and material test results to identify performance trends and continuous improvement opportunities.Support qualification, traceability, and material certification activities per ISO9001 standards.Develop and maintain process documentation, including travelers, SOPs, and FMEAs.Participate in process hazard analyses, safety reviews, and environmental compliance programs.Mentor technicians and operators on best practices for high-temperature furnace operation and maintenance.Work with suppliers to specify and procure equipment, materials, and tooling.Ensure compliance with all company, customer, and regulatory quality and safety standards.Support cost reduction initiatives and lean manufacturing programs.Support root cause investigations, process control plans, and CAPAs.Required Skills / Qualifications: 
  Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.6 - 10 years of experience in manufacturing or similar industryHands-on experience with induction, vacuum, and natural gas furnaces including process setup, controls, and optimization.Familiarity with carbonization, graphitization, or ceramic sintering processes.Proficiency with temperature control systems (Eurotherm, Honeywell, or PLC-based)Experience developing and troubleshooting electric and gas utility systems.Demonstrated success optimizing production processes, managing projects and process scale-up. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in process data analysis and SPC methods.Strong problem-solving skills using statistical methods and process data.Proficient in Solidworks CAD and process documentation systems.Excellent written and verbal communication, with ability to work cross-functionally across R&D, operations, and quality in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
