Job Summary:

We are seeking aNURSE MANAGERfor ourDAWSON HALLCLINIClocated inCHAPEL HILL, NCto be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays. Dawson Hall is a 21 bed clinic for our General Dermatology, Cosmetic, and Laser (adult and peds) providers.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Manage nursing services delivered within the dermatology clinic and ensure scope of practice compliance with nursing services
  • Identify clinical operational needs; manage appropriate level of equipment and supplies and monitors equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Health Center Administrator in determining the fiscal requirements of the specific clinic; submit budgetary recommendations, including necessary nursing personnel and patient care materials necessary for the provision of care.
  • Cultivate exemplary customer service throughout the organization; promote effective communication skills to include, but not limited to problem solving, assertiveness, and support for team members, feedback, active listening and conflict resolution.
  • Manage various personnel actions including, but not limited to hiring, orientation, performance appraisals, promotions and scheduling; and counsel and conduct formal discipline of clinical staff.
  • Develop, document, implement and monitor written policies and procedures reflective of the ambulatory health care site mission settlement and objectives.
  • Manage specific clinic in absence of Health Care Administrator/Practice Manager; and be available on-call for emergencies involving the facility, staff members and patients.
  • Assess the environment and make recommendations to ensure optimal patient comfort, safety and compliance with various regulatory bodies (OSHA, JCAHO, etc.).
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.



Job Eligibility Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required.
  • Three years of nursing experience is required.
  • Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Dermatology experience and use of Epic EMR a plus.
  • Current Duke employees a plus.



Job Schedule:

Hours are Day Shift, Monday through Friday. No weekends or Duke designated holidays.
