As part of the capabilities and science focus of the EPS, the National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS-II) is a state-of-the-art medium energy 3 GeV (3-billion-electron-volt) electron storage ring. The facility offers scientific and industrial researchers an array of instruments (beamlines) using x-ray, ultraviolet, and infrared light to enable discoveries in clean and affordable energy, high-temperature superconductivity, molecular electronics, and more. Position Description We are seeking a highly skilled and communicative Client Facing Engineer to serve as the technical bridge between the Data Science and Systems Integration Division and other groups responsible for state-of-the-art scientific instrumentation. This role involves understanding stakeholder needs, leading small teams to deliver tailored technical solutions, and ensuring the successful deployment and continued stewardship of the technology stack in support of the facility's mission. The ideal candidate combines strong engineering expertise, excellent interpersonal, organizational and problem-solving skills and will adopt a pragmatic and agile approach. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate's qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
