JOB SUMMARY The Manufacturing Engineering Technician II is responsible for using CNC and manual machining equipment to produce a wide variety of components to support manufacturing. Also includes assembling and qualifying prototype and production fixturing, assisting with process development, and solving technical problems with varying levels of problem definition. This role works closely with cross-functional departments such as Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Programming, Production, Automation, and Maintenance to identify and execute process improvements to optimize the manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for general machining and fabrication requests on a day-to-day basis, identifying process improvement opportunities, and developing solutions. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 
  
 Set up and run CNC and manual milling machines, lathes, surface grinders, and other precision equipment for small quantity runs while utilizing computer systems to document work.Use precision inspection equipment to inspect parts, make machine offsets, and program updates as necessary.Ability to support technical problem-solving in at least 2 value streams.Uses CAD/CAM to perform basic programming/setup sheet edits for CNC equipment (Creo, SolidWorks, MasterCAM) and generate standardized programs for milling operations.Work closely with Engineering to develop new parts and fixturing, while providing feedback on fixture and tool designs.Support the installation of new equipment or the implementation of new processes in the shop.Audit process documentation/generate new process documentation as needed, to clearly define procedures.Provide technical support for production to troubleshoot and resolve a range of complex manufacturing challenges.Collaborate with production, quality, and engineering teams to develop scrap/rework reduction solutions.Collaborate with production, quality, engineering, and maintenance on validation of machines after significant repair/PM procedures.Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, generate project plans, and execute. This includes collecting any technical data needed.Participate and contribute to DFM, TCR, and NPI-related discussions.Schedules jobs to address priorities and maximize throughput and equipment effectiveness.Crosstrain in other machining departments within the shop to gain knowledge of processes at our disposal.Other duties as assigned by Management
 QUALIFICATIONS 
  
 A High School Diploma or GED equivalent, and 3-4 years of experience within manufacturing focused on machine shop equipment, processes, etc. is required. Equivalency to the qualification standard will also be considered.A 2-year technical degree is preferred.Experience in CNC milling of aluminum, steel, and composites; able to select appropriate tooling and feeds/speeds as required for different materials and setups.Understand CNC program structure, with full capability to read and understand G codeAbility to manage multiple projects and provide frequent project status reports.Strong knowledge of machine shop equipment, processes, and all maintenance department equipment.Strong computer skills (Proficient in MS Suite)Experience in fixture set-up, adjustments, and set-up verificationAbility to interpret and understand print drawings and sketches.Ability to read and use precision instruments, including micrometers, calipers, height gages, dial indicators, etc.Excellent mechanical problem-solving skills.Able to work a flexible schedule as needed to support production.Effective communicator with the ability to work independently with or without direct supervision.

 Working Environment: Manufacturing floor positionPhysical Demands: Lifting to 50 pounds, running equipment, and sitting at a desk for long periods of time are likely.Travel Requirements: As needed, less than 5% of the time.
