| What to Expect The Fremont Factory Engineering team is seeking a Launch Engineer, Manufacturing Programs to oversee new manufacturing line installations and modications. While the engineers dene solutions to technical challenges, the TPM oversees business case, scope, timeline, budget, and identies gaps in technical scope to ensure that Programs are executed seamlessly alongside factory operations. The TPM will be the key liaison between Operations, Manufacturing and Facilities Engineering teams allowing projects to be executed with operational risk and readiness in mind. The TPM also has intimate knowledge of project interdependencies and can engage cross-functional teams as required. Technical engineering knowledge is crucial to be able to eectively dene and manage project and operational KPIs, assess technical and commercial risk, and critically challenge engineering decisions made in a cross-functional setting.What You'll Do
 
  Lead feasibility and business case assessments on introduction of product changes or new manufacturing lines by interfacing with Engineering, Finance, Factory Planning, Supply Chain and Production teamsFinalize project scope, dene initial assumptions, and secure project resourcesLead funding approval cycle for projects/programs and then monitor CAPEX spend on projectsWork with business leaders, program managers and executives to identify the success criteria of the project and steward teams to meet the criteriaCreate formal project communication plans on key project metrics and dashboards for project status communicationDene, implement and drive project requirements, workows and plans while managing timelines, resources, communications, quality, risks, uncovering roadblocks, dening critical paths, identifying resource constraints, and any other issues that ariseLead cross-functional teams including management and executives. Includes resource & dependency alignment, coordination of activities, and transparent communication of project status and riskCollaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify and help resolve roadblocks to keep the projects/programs on trackInteract, integrate, and drive results across cross-functional teams in engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, production, production control, sales, service, etc.What You'll Bring
 
  Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent technical experienceMinimum of 3 years' experience in automotive, high tech, or other high volume/high complexity manufacturingCuriosity to learn and a passion to solve difficult high impact problemsComfortable in dealing with high levels of ambiguityProduction Operations Knowledge - has a firm understanding of how complex production lines operate including key items such as industrial workings between facilities/departments, line balance, time studies, OEE, error proofing, etc.Great understanding of design for manufacture, process design, process validation, and assembly methodsStrong interpersonal skills dealing with all levels of an organization. Able to effectively and confidently communicate to senior and executive level leadershipStrong written and verbal communication skills and excellent organization skills; well versed with common workplace software (word processor, spreadsheet, database, etc.)Creative thinking and excellent problem-solving skills; adverse in various problem-solving methodologies.Understanding of creating dashboards in Tableau / Ziplabs is a plusCompensation and Benefits
