Overview

This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.

This position provides support to senior team members assisting in management of a portfolio of distressed and stressed corporate, real estate, and project finance assets. This position also manages their own portfolio without senior guidance. These include debt and swap exposures. The exposures can be bi-lateral, participations in syndicated facilities or agent led transactions. Primary focus for this position is to maximize recoveries and minimize losses of our stressed and distressed loan and equity positions through restructuring efforts to bridge to an exit or turnaround. Qualified candidates would have a credit background and experience with financial modeling, valuation, and credit documentation. They also provide mentoring and guidance to junior staff. They interface with auditors and regulators in conjuction with senior staff.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements and KPI reporting of Guarantors and stressed and distressed Borrowers. Develop three-statement models and valuation models to structure workout strategies, determine fulcrum position and assess Borrowers' (i) repayment capacity and refinancing capabilities; (ii) covenants; and (iii) liquidity.
  • Prepare and process portfolio reviews, credit action applications and upgrade/downgrade memos.
  • Present the aforementioned recommendations to senior management.
  • Negotiate amendments, waivers, restructuring proposals, and credit documentation with Borrowers, syndicate members, and other key creditors. Development, implement and monitor of restructuring strategies.
  • Perform due diligence to identify risks associated with credit actions.
  • Work collaboratively and interface across multiple internal business units including Origination, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and Credit
  • Provide support to junior staff

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of experience in Credit Training, Financial Analysis OR High School Diploma or GED and 12 years of experience in Credit Training, Financial Analysis.

Preferred Education: Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree

Preferred Area of Study: Accounting Finance or Credit

Preferred Area of Experience: Commercial Banking or Advisory

If hired in New York the base pay for this position is generally between $148,174.00 and $227,200.00 per year. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and/or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
