As a vital member of our Engineering Department, you'll help preserve the hotel's classic charm and ensure our property remains in pristine condition for every guest.

There's no better time to join us, as the Hilton Milwaukee undergoes a $40 million renovation set to be completed by end of 2025. This exciting transformation will elevate our guest rooms, event spaces, and grand lobby - blending our historic character with modern elegance. Built in 1927 as the Schroeder Hotel, the Hilton Milwaukee is the city's largest hotel with 554 guest rooms and over 34,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. Connected to the newly expanded Baird Center, we're proud to remain Milwaukee's premier destination for meetings, conventions, and memorable stays.

What will you be doing?

* Perform a variety of interior and exterior painting tasks throughout the hotel, maintaining high-quality standards and attention to detail.
* Complete daily shift reports and document all calls in the painter's log.
* Assist in maintaining the hotel's building, furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E) through preventive maintenance and repair.
* Respond promptly and professionally to guest and associate maintenance requests.
* Support cost-control efforts related to heat, power, light, sewer, and water usage.
* Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and safety regulations at all times.
* Assist with repairs and maintenance of building systems, including air conditioning, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and life safety equipment as needed.
* Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe operation of the paint shop and storage areas.
* Represent the hotel with professionalism and uphold Hilton and Marcus Hotels & Resorts service standards.
* Perform other duties as assigned to support the Engineering Department.

What do you bring to the role?

* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Previous professional painting experience required; experience with VWC (Vinyl Wall Covering) preferred.
* CPR, OSHA 10, and scaffold training certifications required.
* Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety data sheets (SDS), maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when needed.
* Mechanical aptitude and understanding of basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems a plus.
* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and implement solutions.
* Must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, lift, grasp, twist, and stretch during shifts.
* Must maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times.
