| Description of Work | Assist the Dean in the oversight of various duties, which may include but aren't limited to, advancing research missions, supporting the undergraduate and graduate degree programs, faculty evaluation, faculty development, facilitate external support for undergraduate and graduate programs, curriculum development, course schedule planning, faculty/staff hiring and supervision, budget development, fiscal monitoring, and other related administrative activities with and for the assigned program areas. Reports directly to the Dean and may assume some duties of the Dean in their absence. | 
 
        
        | Essential Duties and Responsibilities | General The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curriculum and Student Affairs reports directly to the Dean and is primarily responsible for providing academic leadership for curriculum and academic program development and evaluation for undergraduate programs. They provide administrative oversight to the College's Advising Center, Office of Student Success and Assessment, and the Office of Student Compliance. They work collaboratively with the Dean, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, the academic unit heads, and central administrative offices to contribute to the development of the College's strategic plan and performance metrics. The Director of the 
          CHHS Advising Center, Director of Student Success and Assessment, Student Compliance Specialists and Administrative Support Associate report directly to the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curriculum and Student Affairs. They perform other duties and responsibilities as delegated by the Dean.Curriculum The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curriculum and Student Affairs, in collaboration with the Dean, Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, the academic unit heads and faculty, supports the establishment of priorities related to academic program planning, development, approval, implementation, and evaluation for undergraduate programs, including efforts to expand and integrate high impact educational practices across the College's programs. They serve as ex-officio member to the College Curriculum Committee.College Planning and Evaluation They monitor undergraduate student enrollments and enrollment trends and are responsible for any needed updates to the College's enrollment management plan. They participate in accreditation compliance for 
          CHHS as it relates to the University Accreditation as well as discipline-specific special accreditation processes. In collaboration with College Unit Leadership, s/he contributes to the student affairs elements of the College Strategic Plan and the College's undergraduate student performance metrics, and facilitates the distribution of outcome data to appropriate Units and governance groups.College Operations They oversee the 
          CHHS Advising Center, including corresponding budgets, undergraduate recruitment processes, staff development, and policies and procedures related to academic advising. They oversee the Office of Student Success and Assessment, including corresponding budgets, college-level report production and survey administration, and compliance with system-level and regional accreditation program review requirements. They monitor processes related to undergraduate student recruitment and admission, and evaluate progression and graduation data and trends. They monitor policies/procedures related to undergraduate students, initiates reviews, and communicates and interprets policy to college leaders/faculty/students. The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curriculum and Student Affairs handles all undergraduate student academic appeals and grievances that rise to the level of the Dean's Office. They oversee student compliance staff in the processing of clinical agency requests, negotiating agency contracts/agreements for student learning, and assuring compliance. They oversee the development of course schedules, including budgets for summer scheduling, and monitor student enrollment in courses/programs. In consultation with academic unit heads and other program leaders, s/he facilitates updates to academic catalogs. The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curriculum and Student Affairs serves as the College representative to other units in the University responsible for undergraduate academic policies governing admission, progression, all aspects of undergraduate student assessment, retention and graduation. Also, s/he oversees space assignments, strategic planning related to future space needs, and collaborates with Academic Affairs, Facilities Management and vendors to facilitate space improvement projects.Faculty and Staff At the request of the Dean, the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Curriculum and Student Affairs may assist in the recruitment and interviewing of potential administrators, faculty, and adjunct faculty for the College. They contribute to the planning of professional development initiatives for the College's faculty and staff related to teaching and curriculum development, assists with the onboarding of new faculty and administrators. They coordinate updates to the College's 
          RPT Handbook based on College feedback.Other They may be ex officio to College committees related to curriculum and to undergraduate affairs. They are the College liaison to University units responsible for accreditation and assessment, distance education, summer programs, course scheduling, and admission, progression, and graduation of undergraduates. They demonstrate a high level of integrity and follow-through, and the ability to supervise and develop staff professionally. They assume other administrative responsibilities as delegated by the Dean. |
