Description

The Tufts University Department of Education seeks qualified candidates to teach an in-person graduate level course on Development Psychopathology. This course will be offered to second-year students in the School Psychology Program Tuesdays 9:00 am to 12:00 pm during the Spring term of 2026.

ED 254 Developmental Psychopathology in Educational Settings: ED254 is a required course for second-year candidates in the school psychology graduate program. Children and adolescents are experiencing mental health distress and disorders in increasing numbers and with increasing severity. School psychologists are required to participate in the diagnosis, identification, and treatment planning for a wide range of behavioral and mental health problems affecting students. This course is designed to provide an in-depth examination of the psychological developmental processes in the expression of psychopathology in children and adolescents with a focus on symptom presentation and impact on school functioning, risk and protective factors, and culturally responsive evidence-based prevention and intervention approaches within a multi-tiered system of support services.

Qualifications

Doctorate in School Psychology or related discipline and successful university teaching experience are preferred. The successful candidate should have recent experience in school-based or clinical practice evaluating and supporting children and adolescents relative to the IDEA disability categories and the DSM-5, and experience developing multi-tiered interventions at the high school, middle school, and/or elementary level.

Application Instructions

Applications should include a cover letter addressing the complex issues of diagnosis and treatment in a school setting, CV, and three letters of reference. All materials should be submitted via Interfolio at: https://apply.interfolio.com/176575. If you have further questions, please contact Michelle Pare at michelle.pare@tufts.edu.
