Description

Reporting to the Global Head of Ethics & Compliance, the Program Manager will play a critical role in supporting ethical sourcing, operational assurance programs, and privacy risk management, including code of ethics, supplier conduct, anti-terrorist and sanctioned entities awareness, safeguarding customer trust, and operational integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • As an individual contributor, the role is expected to:


    • Support the Ethics, Compliance and Privacy team in the implementation of the ethics, compliance and privacy programs and collaborate with other teammates to advance the work of the OGC;
    • Conduct essential screening and risk assessments to ensure ACS only does business with responsible entities leveraging best practices for due diligence (e.g. OFAC sanctions screening, vendor due diligence, grantee risk assessments, covering financial stability, operational capabilities, legal compliance, data security, and reputational risks to ensure they meet organizational standards before and during business relationships);
    • Assist in the development and advancement of training events and awareness of relevant global standards, laws and regulations, and ACS policies;
    • Support the ongoing operationalization of the privacy and data protection compliance programs development and implementation;
    • Assist with tracking of emerging privacy trends and assist with privacy impact and gap assessments;
    • Assist with managing individual rights requests and incident response activities
    • Develop and employ best practices and technology solutions to manage policies and procedures, operational legal documents, information resources, or other tools as applicable; and
    • Coordinate with other members of the OGC to conduct internal investigations.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree or certification in law, privacy, or compliance is a plus.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience primarily in ethics, compliance, privacy, or legal in a large organization or law firm with multi-national nonprofit experience being a big plus.
  • Experience supporting the implementation of an ethics-based and/or privacy compliance program.
  • Experience analyzing, drafting or revising policies, notices, or training materials a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset to progress on ambiguous problems and see them through to resolution.
  • Ability to build trust-based relationships with stakeholders and teammates.
  • Exhibits highest levels of discretion and judgment in safeguarding confidential information.
  • Strong analytical, issue-spotting, and problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to handle complex, sensitive issues.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced changing environment and able to manage ambiguity with confidence.
  • Outstanding English written and oral communication skills, including clear and concise writing and editorial skills and excellent listening skills.
  • Optimism, patience, and a sense of humor highly encouraged.



This role is based in our Washington, D.C. office. A reasonable rate of compensation for this position is between $95,000-$110,000 per year.

ACS currently provides the following benefits for this position: paid vacation leave, paid sick leave, paid holidays, health insurance, flexible spending account or health care savings account, dental insurance, life insurance, vision insurance, retirement benefits, short- and long-term disability, and 4-week work from anywhere; each benefit is subject to the terms of the applicable program. Additional benefits may apply based on skills, experience, and location.
