Summary

Responsible for performing courier services for the Housing Assistance Department around the City by operating a car and/or van. Also, responsible for checking the condition and reporting the need for service of the vehicle operated.

Pay Range: $15.54 - 19.24 (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Work Schedule: Onsite Monday - Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Pick up and deliver mail, supplies and documentation to appropriate buildings.

  • Sort mail into correct mailboxes.

  • Hand deliver or pick up packages as required.

  • Pick up and deliver payroll or accounts payable checks from the Financial Services Department.

  • Scan documents received by the department into ONBASE

  • Complete extra assignments and duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  • Under one-year related experience

  • Must possess a valid Class C Texas driver's license and a good driving record

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience

  • 6 months to 1 year experience in a courier role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Comprehensive knowledge of City department's locations

  • Basic knowledge of City employees' names and roles within departments

  • Skill providing excellent customer service

  • Skill communicating effectively

  • Skill in time management

  • Organizational skills

  • Ability to professionally work and interact with various people

  • Ability to safely operate a City vehicle

  • Ability to prioritize

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license
