The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary

Establishes and manages a high performing industry leading sourcing organization and supply base for assigned products for Global Pet Care division. Initiate and lead projects that improve the performance/quality of materials purchased while minimizing total costs required to achieve financial objectives (EBITDA & Cash Flow). Manages and selects global suppliers to drive innovation/new product development. Follow's the Spectrum Value model to achieve Global Pet Care's operational excellence goals for Service, Quality, Cost, and Working Capital.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

* Manages Existing Supplier Relationships and Strategic Supplier Accounts.
* Collaborates on the Development and Implementation of Global Sourcing Strategies and Operating Plan Budget.
* Achieves Year over Year Productivity to meet/exceed Corp Objectives via cost improvement/ working capital.
* Manage and lead sustaining projects
* Negotiates, Approves and Executes Annual Contract Manufacturing Agreements, Supply Agreements, and Exclusivity Agreements.
* Manages market dynamics relative to controlling raw material and currency inflation/deflation on product portfolio.
* Develop strategies and execution plans to support corporate Working Capital reduction goals.
* Selects & Develops suppliers into strategic partners bringing value & innovation to meet company goals.
* Performs and Manages Competitive bidding process, evaluating the country of origin, pricing, quality, and understanding capacity constraints
* Assures 95% Customer Fill rate goals via Supplier Performance Management and Supply Chain Support.
* Reports to Senior Management during Business Reviews, Commodity Strategy Reviews, Product Development Reviews and/or Operations reviews.
* Evaluate, measure and report Supplier performance metrics and scorecards.
* Resolves Warranty, and Liability Claims with Supply Base to recover costs per contract terms.
* Serves as Project Leader or Team member on strategic Assignments assigned by Sr. Management.
* Lead team of 1 - 2 employees
* The ability to travel up to 25% of the time, including international.

Education and Experience Profile

* Bachelors Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Technical field or equivalent experience required.
* Minimum of 10 years combined Supplier Management, Global Sourcing, Commodity Management, Program/Project Management, Finance, and/or Manufacturing Operations experience in the Pet Food industry.
* Proven negotiating skills, Team Leadership/Management Skills, and Project Leadership experience required.
* Strong analytical skills required.
* Experience Managing suppliers outside of US strongly desired.

Required Skills

* Considerable knowledge of sources of supply, markets, price and commodity trends in the Pet Food industry with ability to accurately predict/anticipate marketplace events and develop action plans that anticipate/prevent implementation challenges.
* Working knowledge of US regulatory and AAFCO and APHIS requirements.
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
* Intermediate to advanced level presentation and spreadsheet skills.
* Skilled at effectively interfacing with employees at all levels in the organization.
* Proven ability to provide leadership through influence.
* Able to facilitate dynamic, cross-functional groups.
* Able to management multiple projects successfully.
* Strong business acumen.
* Proficient in the use of Microsoft office computer systems and applications
* Experience in supply chain operations and/or management preferred
* Certified Purchasing Manager [CPM] Certification desirable.
