POSITION SUMMARY
The Security Specialist monitors and supports the physical security infrastructure, procedures, records, and training at all Credit Union facilities, including access control, alarm systems, permissions camera systems, and video surveillance. This role conductsregular assessments and audits of the existing security environment to include infrastructure, maintenance and permission levelsand ensures that all physical security and associated databases are updated and working properly. The Security Specialist regularly conducts, modifies and improves team training and communications concerning security and safety. This role regularly collaboratesand provides general knowledge as a security professional in support of the organization as it pertains to various projects and tasks.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Ensures that all security infrastructure is functioning properly and system failures are mitigated.
* Maintains all service level agreements in control over security database information including access control, building alarms, secure key controls, including changes and/or updates.
* Assists, conducts, modifies ongoing staff training for modern security and safety purpose and procedures.
* Acts as liaison to federal, state, and local law enforcement during emergency events and investigations.
* Assists in planning and maintaining all safety functions including evacuation drills.
* Maintains or exceeds knowledge necessary to remain compliant with all security regulations and internal process and procedures.
* Maintains relationships with external vendors to ensure credit union needs are being met.
* Ensures appropriate escalation to management when issues or problems arise.
* Keeps up to date with all required compliance and credit union training.
* Monitors and maintains access control system credentials and database.
* Ensures an updated Secure Key System and key log information. Monitors alarm system and alarm code database. Conductsregular video surveillance system checks video recording, camera function, and camera angles. Ensures camera operation center alerts are addressed and corrected.
* Coordinates and conducts physical security assessments on credit union properties. Acts as a law enforcement liaison. Assists with verification and answers to legal requests (search warrants, subpoenas, law enforcement requests). Documentsand monitors security system failures, repairs, and false alarms.
* Creates, modifies, and updates security and safety training for team members, including but not limited to Active Attacker, Robbery, and De Escalation techniques.
* Maintains a high-level position on the safety committee including participation in meetings and offering advanced advice, risk assessments, and mitigations to safety concerns.
* Assists with new projects in both existing and new areas, including security risk assessments, product selection, testing, verification and inspection of systems and work.
* Documents, monitors, and suggests solutions to security system faults and failures, repairs, and false alarms.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
* Monitor the safety committee and coordinate safety communication, training, and procedures to team members.
* Coordinate information requests from federal and local law enforcement concerning criminal investigations. Be the point of contact and a physical security resource for all staff, vendors and management.
* Work involves personal contact and communications with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation
* Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication.
* Knowledge of basis security infrastructure, life safety protocols. Strong written, verbal, interview and de-escalation skills.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
* A two-year college degree.
* Minimum of five years security/law enforcement or other related experience.
* Knowledge of physical security systems including access control, video surveillance and alarm systems. Previous life safety training, safety/loss committee membership or other related experience.
* Completion of a specialized certification or licensing, completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
* Knowledge of basis security infrastructure, life safety protocols. Strong written, verbal, interview and de-escalation skills. Strong problem-solving capabilities and organizational skills.

WORK ARRANGEMENT:
The working arrangement for this position is hybrid. Hybrid work is an opportunity to find the right balance between working in the office and remotely, especially if it supports individual success and the needs of our organization. Hybrid schedules are determined by the hiring manager based on business unit needs and may vary by department.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position involves driving to various branches and property locations, external functions, and work-related activities (valid driver's license required).
