Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible in assisting the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF system communicating all information essential to ensuring its integrity and effectiveness to the SQF Practitioner.

This position is at our production facility in Little Chute, WI. Hours are 5:45pm-6:00am on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities:

* Responsible for accurate and thorough recording of all data and information related to quality and food safety. Also responsible for complete upkeep and maintenance of these records.


  • Product Holds
  • Quality Attributes
  • Preventative Maintenance Program
  • Work Order Maintenance
  • Microorganism data control and swabbing
  • Net weight verification and data control
  • Assist in verifying and maintaining all SQF monitoring records associated with pre-requisite programs and food safety and quality plans including appropriate disposal at the end of the record retention period including:
  • Complaint management
  • Document control and records
  • Non-conforming product
  • Corrective and preventative actions
  • Product sampling, inspection, and analysis
  • Internal audits
  • Raw, WIP, and Finished Product Specifications
  • Pest control
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
  • Foreign material control
  • Creation of Purchase Orders for GMP Supplies, Quality Supplies and Sanitation Supplies
  • Responsible for confirming Certificate of analysis and the creation of COA's for co-manufacturing facilities.
  • Assist in the scheduling and maintaining the training program and training register.
  • Assist in the calibration program including:
    • Scheduling the calibrations
    • Completing in-house calibrations.
    • Initiating corrective actions for out of specification calibrations
    • Assist with approved supplier program including:
      • Gathering specific documentation from supplier
      • Initiating supplier CAPA's for non-conformant materials and performance trending
      • Assist in the verifying and maintaining of the chemical usage in the facility through the chemical register and Safety Data Sheets.
      • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications:


  • Associates degree in a science based related area of study
  • 3+ years hands-on plant quality assurance experience in a food industry or related manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of food packaging principles, food industry quality and food safety requirements, ingredient performance and interactions with equipment, statistical process control, critical control points and new product scale up dynamics.
  • Experience development, implementation, training and administration of quality lab processes, GMP, SQF, HACCP, FDA, Kosher or other regulatory or industry certification program development and administration.
  • Understanding of sanitation systems, techniques and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate well cross-functionally and work well at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills, troubleshooting and judgment skills.
  • Results driven
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and related production and product information systems.
  • Desire to work in a fast paced high growth environment.
  • Must be willing to be a hands-on performer and spend significant time on the plant production floor and provide coverage and support across shifts as needed.
  • If unable to perform job responsibilities the SQF Practitioner will step in as backup.
  • Responsible for following food safety/regulatory policies and procedures, executing responsibilities as identified in standard operating procedures, and reporting food safety/regulatory concerns to the Production or Quality Manager.

Hours, Location and Pay:

We offer a competitive base pay rate and comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees. This role works 5:45pm to 6:00am on a non-rotating 2-2-3 schedule at our Little Chute, WI manufacturing facility.

Physical and Mental Demands:

* While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, hear, use hands to type data, use a personal computer and telephone. This employee may occasionally have to operate business machines and lift and/move up to 50 pounds.
